Unable to setup Charge 6 on child's phone managed by Family Link

Child's phone and google account are managed by Family Link.  Child is over 13 as required, but the FitBit app signed in with his google account will not show the Charge 6 as available for pairing.  It only shows FitBit Ace devices, which is not the device we are pairing.  Does google have no way to make this work?  This should be a seamless setup and integration, but now I'm looking at returning and buying a different brand of fitness tracking device because of this issue.

Hello @HOT_STEEL_BALLS

"Adult" Fitbit devices are not compatible with managed Family Link accounts. The only way to set up an "adult" Fitbit device for your child is to remove them from Family Link. The reason why is child data privacy laws that Fitbit must comply with.

This thread (<-- click) is the best one that discusses this topic in detail, including the steps taken to successfully set up the Fitbit device for a 13+ year old child. I believe in the thread, some parents were able to add their child back to Family Link after they successfully set up their new Fitbit.

Hello @HOT_STEEL_BALLS

Although I doubt that this answers your question, this page outlines Fitbit's Privacy Policy for Children (<-- click).

If I find a reference that states adult Fitbit devices do not work with Family Link accounts, regardless of age, I'll report back.
