Upgrading from ACE to Charge 6 for kids

Hello! Upgraded my kids watches to Charge 6 - when I set up, doesn't allow me to set them up under my family account (only gives kids options like ACE).  I read that I need to remove my kids from Family Link - but then that removes them from oversight of tablet and other device usage - so don't want to do that.  Thinking of options - can I log out from my Gmail access to Fitbit for my watch and then have separate log-ins for my kids on their own with the Charge 6, or can I still keep them as part of Fitbit family but somehow change their status so they are allowed to have the Charge 6 as part of their account?  Disappointed how strangely difficult this is...

Hey there @Pedrofit77, welcome to this great community.

I'd be happy to help you set up your new devices.

Kid devices are designed to keep kids safe and secure, so they can only be set up on a Family account. Since your Charge 6 is an adult device, you won't be able to set it up on the Family account.

The only way to proceed is to create a separate account for each of your kids. However, this is only recommended if they are already 14 years old.

Excellent thank you! And how do I go about setting up separate accounts?
You mean via fit bit or via their Gmail accounts? Any tips on exactly how
to do that would be super helpful.

Hey there @Pedrofit77

To keep it clear, be aware that they both will need to get their own phone or tablet to set up the device.

You can try to use different accounts on the same phone, but those accounts that aren't logged in on the phone will not save any of the information recorded by their Charge 6.

Basically a separate phone will be need for each Fitbit device as well as a separate email for each of your kids.
