Walks not appearing in the App with my new Charge 6

UPDATE:

I went for a long walk today. This time I pressed the start/arrow button when the tracker notified me that it had recognized a walk. Went through the whole walk, and when done I pressed the pause/end button. Then I was asked on the tracker screen something like "Would you like to continue to recognize and track future walks"? I answered "yes".Even after doing all of this, The Android app STILL isn't logging the Walk as a "Walk", still just showing up as "Intense Activity". So this is clearly a more fundamental problem with the App and logging/recognizing Walks, not any misunderstanding by me on how the Charge 6 works. Can anyone shed some light on any troubleshooting tips for this? Is anyone else seeing it? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Hi, a couple of weeks ago I started with a new Charge 6, replacing a number of Charge 4s. My Charge 4 generally did an excellent job recognizing the form of exercise that I was doing, and it would then appear in my Fitbit Android app, albeit sometimes with a small delay before the recognition. I did not need to DO ANYTHING to make this happen; it all happened automatically.

With my new Charge 6, this seems to be happening fine when I swim. Again, I don't need to do anything, it just happens.

But when going for walks, it's not happening. I noticed that on Walks my Charge 6 with "buzz" me, and tells me that a "Walk is being auto-recognized". There appears to be an Arrow when I look at the screen at this point, and it appears to be timing the Walk. So I assumed that just like the Charge 4, this recognition is automatic and I don't need to do anything for this to occur. But do actually I need to tap the arrow when it alerts me that it is tracking the walk? I hope not, that would be unfortunate, as this FULLY automatic recognition is a feature that I value. I don't want to have to remember to press a button to track exercises.

The reason that I am asking is that the Walk is not registering as such in the Android app, once I sync the tracker to the app. It continues to show up as an "intense activity" (even the next day), which doesn't provide as much information on the Walk as when the app shows it as a Walk.

Again, I hope that I wasn't supposed to tap the button to actually have the Walk ultimately show up as such in the app. I don't know why I would, since I don't seem to have to do that for the swim to be recognized, and the Charge 4 didn't work that way. Anyone that can shed some light on this would be appreciated.

I turned off this auto detect activity function, but before I realised it was on or even existing (I am new to fitbit), it did start tracking my walking automatically, notifyed me about it on the screen and I just ingored the notification, first because I was not exercising, just going to a shop, and also because I could not really see what exactly was it telling me (did not have the reading glasses with me) albeit assuming it was asking me if I wanted to start recording the walk. Also, I just thought the notification would go away if I do nothing. When I reached back home, some notification related to it was still showing on the screen. I pressed some button to remove it but the walk was recorded as a walk which surprised me since, as I said, I just ignored the notification because I had no intention to track anything at that point.

So, I am not sure why it would not work the same for you.

I am having the same problem. I want to have my walks recognized  and tracked automatically on my Charge 6, the same way it worked on Charge 4, and the same way it still recognizes cycling ( i.e. the excercise automatically appears on the app, just without GPS data, which is OK for me, without me having to do anything). Yet, when I walk, the watch keeps nagging me every minute, it even every 30 seconds with a request to confirm walk recording. Is there any way to make the recognition of walks really automatic?
