Wearing Charge 6 while surfing

ANSWERED

I bought my Charge 6 as my surfing watch broke down. I noticed that the Charge 6 is water resistant and even has Surfing as an activity option that uses GPS to track your path.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID.

Fitbit bands are terrible and give no real safety that the watch won't be snapped from your wrist and that is exactly what happened to me.

On my second day surfing with it, as soon as I fell on the white water after my first wave, I felt that something was wrong and when I came up, the watch was nowhere to be found. That happened even with the fitbit being used underneath my long-sleeved wetsuit. So it was as "secure" as it could be in a surfing session and it still was gone. So DONT USE IT!
Moreover the GPS wont work if the watch is underneath the wetsuit.

I think fitbit is more for fashion cult the charge 6 does not track properly for cycling GPS Does not work miles out. I just bought mine last Sunday and thought it was 140 as is the best but in the week owned glitchy needs restarts had to replace the band sleep not shown on wrist unless restart its not much good a 40 note huawei is better. With my huawei I had for 4 years before and cost 40 was rock solid in reliability the strap was better designed never feel off and comfortable. As bad and over priced as fitbit is and as much as I think google should be allowed to put the huawei back in the store government mandate prevents it why I had to change. I think with the fragile strap taking surfing would be a bad idea mine fell of while cooking . Even when cycling to work I wonder if will fall off when running or sleeping I would likely find it again. I think the fitbit charge is big and unique as a style statement for middle aged people who don't exercise much, I am and do but just bought mine for sleep and biggest thing that annoys me is the poor quality irrating unsecured strap. But I do get the pleasure of being part of the community of charge 6 so I get the 100 over charhed price back by the pleasure i get commenting in this way. With my huawei it just worked never looked for a forum in the 4 years I used it

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @lorenzomazzo. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with wearing your Charge 6 while surfing.

Thank you for your feedback and advise regarding this. This device was not specifically designed for surfing.

Thank you for the heads up @DramaQueenDiva.

If that is the case, you should not have Surfing as one of the available activites! That makes no sense. I'm so disappointed with fitbit right now. I thought you were a serious company...

Yes unlike some of the cheaper ones like huawei bands you can swim and shower waterproof 50 meters equivalent.  I would avoid a lake or river in case it falls off. I would avoid the sea in case it falls off , also even if had a better strap salt water can damage things
