Is the Charge 6 a piece of junk like the Charge 5?

It depends on what you're looking for, but for what it's worth, I own both and didn't see much of a difference between the two.

I'm looking for one that actually works all the time. The Charge 5 I have has to be constantly be reset or restarted every few days to sync. It's absolute garbage from the first day I owned it. I started using Fitbit with the Charge 2 and the Charge 2 HR, they were good Fitbits that lasted me several years up until my only next choice was the Charge 5. The Charge 6 compared to the Charge 5 doesn't seem like there's any improvement, it still doesn't do floors like the older Fitbits. I don't see anybody dancing up and down with joy about the Charge 6 either. I'm just tired of paying good money for tech that doesn't work and not dependable.

I'm not actually seeing the point of the charge 6. Did they just release a new version because they realized that the 5 was a lemon? What valuable features does it add beyond the charge 5? Does it perform any better than the charge 5? For example, does the on-board GPS work on its own or does it drop like the 5? Does the smart-wake work on the 6?

I agree with this--they should just go back to the charge 4. It had an altimeter and the on-board GPS worked most of the time, whereas my 5 works none of the time.

I just got the six and within a few hours right from the box it won’t work it’s garbage and I’ve never reviewed a product so negatively before! It’s black and won’t go and fully charged I couldn’t even set it up with the app lol I hope my mom can return this this shouldn’t be on the market for how crappy it is in my opinion

I have been using Fitbit for last 6-7 years. Started with Charge 2 for about 3 years and then Charge 3 for the next 3-4 years. Recently faced issues with auto brightness in Charge 3 and hence upgraded to Charge 6. I was confused reading a lot of negative comments but finally decided to go for it. Let me tell you that it is good. The display is excellent and very clean and clear. I use for step count, sleep measure, heart rate and some simple health matrix. I do not use GPS. The battery is losing about 13% Charge per day. I keep most notifications off. It is important to define your expectations. The only thing which I miss is the altimeter as the stairs count has gone. Overall it is doing fine and I am very happy with the purchase. I hat those watches which need frequent or daily charging. I would love a future fitbit charge with 2 weeks battery life. Do not think much and go for it if you want a smart, sleek and worthy fitness tracker.
