Where can I find setup info to update app from a Charge 4 to a Charge 6?

ANSWERED

Where can I find info on how to update my Fitbit app to replace a Charge 4 to a Charge 6? The online manual doesn't cover that. Also, if I have Fitbit premium will it automatically switch over to the new device? Thanks!!

Hello @JEM-1

I hope I'm understanding your question correctly. You had a Charge 4 and now have a Charge 6. You want to add your Charge 6 to the Fitbit app in place of your Charge 4. If this is correct, here's what you do:

  • Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on the Charge 4 tile
  • You should see either a trash icon or wording to disconnect the device. Tap on that to remove the Charge 4 from the Fitbit app
  • You should now be able to add your Charge 6 to your Fitbit app

If this wasn't your question, please let us know.

Thank you, yes, that's my question. I also added a second question asking if my premium will transfer over? I will do what you suggest above and hope for the best. Thanks so much!!

In the Fitbit app, click the device icon at the top left of the screen to get to the Devices screen.

At the bottom of the screen is Add more devices, click on that and select Charge 6.  Follow the prompts to replace your Charge 4 with the Charge 6,

Please not that you cannot have both devices connected to your account at the same time.

Hi @JEM-1 - to setup a Charge 6 you will also need to switch to a Google account (you will anyway by 2025).

Premium is normally associated with your account rather than the device so changing device will be ok but changing to a Google account might not be.

Note you can't go back to the old Fitbit account once you change, and some things might not work the same if you have friends.
