Why is One data ignored?

All of a sudden the Fitbit app is ignoring the steps my One is logging. I have a Charge 6 also and up until now the two would ‘adjust’ for discrepancies and the app would update. Now, when I sync my One the app says it sync’d but data from the One are ignored and I only see what my Charge 6 says. I’m seriously ready to get rid of Fitbit because support has gone downhill since Google took over…

Okay so I guess no one knows. So, can someone tell me how you can get an accurate step count when the Charge 6 doesn’t track steps when your arms aren’t moving (ie - pushing a shopping cart or holding stuff in your arms? 
i depended on the One attached to my waist to help with keeping accurate steps, but even though it says it’s ‘syncing’ the app isn’t adjusting my steps anymore.
