My new Fitbit charge 6 stopped activating when I turn my wrist. Have to push the button to activate

In your Settings, you either have Screen Wake set to Button Only, or you have Sleep Mode turned on. Sleep Mode turns off Scree Wake as well as a few other things.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
