charge 6- strap and water resistance

I have a charge 6 and want a comfy and breathable strap for it, for swimming and exercise so it doesn't go all sweaty- I got a nylon one from Amazon and it is so comfy, but is bulky. I know there is the sports band official Fitbit one, but I don't like the holes lol.

Also, side note- is it ok that I sometimes swim with the watch on??

Mine got damaged by pool water but I'd rather say it's a lottery in which apparently I lost 😆

Triletics, you're gonna love this story: did a triathlon today. The swim start was off of a dock with 3 people lined up and then we all jump in at the same time (starts were based off time rather than by age group). As soon as I entered the water, the Charge 6 fell off my wrist. I made one futile attempt to grab it, but it was gone, gone gone into the murky depths and I had to get moving because the next group of 3 jumped in immediately after us. And that was right at the start of the tri so then I had no way to know my time for any of the rest of the triathlon legs, or heart rate, and had to ask other people the time of day so I'd know how long it had been since the start just to have a rough estimate of my overall time. 😵

@MattRoxx that's unfortunate 😮 but I must say, I predicted that plot twist before I got there. I'm curious how would you track triathlon on Charge 6? As one activity? It seems like waste of time to try to select each activity from UI when it starts (and then there are transitions, too). Can't imagine using Charge 6 (or any Fitbit) to track triathlon.

The bike and run courses are marked off every few kilometers so you could know your pace from time, and I'm old so like to check heart rate; I don't want to push it too high. But now that the Charge 6 is sitting at the bottom of Lake Ontario, time to upgrade to something that's actually useful for open water swims, biking and running...with built in GPS - and a better wristband than the plastic snapper of the Charge 6.. The best features of the Charge 6 are price and small size but it's too limited and now without the Dashboard it's even less useful so there's no point in getting another. And yes, you did predict it would happen, and as Murphy's Law goes, whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time. I think you also said (might have been someone else) that it seemed to be designed by people who don't use it, and that feels about right.
