should I stay with the fitbit charge 6 or not?

two weeks ago I bought my fitbit chgarge 6. so far I kinda like the device, first of all the minimalistic design and long battery life. I read a lot in the past few weeks/months ppl are annoyed with fitbit (especially googles influence) and wouldnt recommend it anymore cause the app gets worse and worse.

I have two weeks left to send it back for free to amazon and dont know what to do. the alternative would be an apple watch - but I would wait until series X comes out. or do you have another idea where the accuracy is about the same?

also premium is only free for 6 months and after that they want to charge me 79,99€ per year which is quite a lot. and honestly I dont like things where I have to pay monthly/annualy - thats the reason why I didnt buy the whoop band.

Hi, @hawkcl! For me it really comes down to what you want out of a tracker. The big differences for me are the battery life (huge!) and the fact that I don't want a smart watch to do things on my wrist, I really want a fitness tracker that just lets me know about incoming texts and calls. For that, the Charge series is a better fit. I will also mention that I think the developers are hearing the feedback on the app and will be making some modifications to adjust based on that feedback, so maybe hang in there if the tracker is what you want.

i hope they change it back - especially the sleep.  this sucks.  they took something amazing and broke it.

I wouldn't buy another fitbit, I've had about 5 or 6 different ones, have loved them all. I currently have a Charge 6 but this will be my last one, when it craps out i will be leaving Fitbit after 8 years of being very loyal.   Used to be amazing and i loved it, that's why i've had so many.  Google has destroyed what was once an aweome thing.  I will be moving on to Oura Ring once this fitbit no longer works.

Why do you think the developers are responsive to our issues? People have been complaining about not being able to edit their run distances for *years* with absolutely zero meaningful response from the company.

My charge 6's gps is profoundly unreliable and when I run with my wife (whose versa 2's gps works fine) I don't maintain a consistent stride length. Editing run distance is obviously a feature Fitbit/Google disabled so there's no conceivable reason they could not fix it with a few keystrokes.

I haven't found a better alternative on the market but I admit I haven't looked that hard.

I just don't see why I should believe that since Google bought Fitbit, the developers are anything more than peripherally interested in responding to our feedback.
