Able to filter specific activity history/stats and select period of time

It'd be nice to have a filter for the workouts. For example, a filter would allow me to compare all my runs without digging through weights/sports/walks/etc workouts (selected dates). This would make it much easier to track my progress.

I would love to be able to filter through completed activities on the dashboard based on the type of activity.  ie., To be able to look at just the treadmill runs.

This would be very beneficial for tracking how many miles you logged running in a given time period. Please add this feature.

YES! I also want to see this. I log some very specific exercises (e.g. T25 Alpha Cardio DVD). I'd love to be able to filter on just that specific exercise type to see how my steps, calories, etc, chnage over time as I get back into shape. Thank you for posting,.

Is there anyway we can get a sorting function in the Activity History section on the Dashboard.  I would like to sort my runs, workouts etc. and see my distances, steps, duration and so on.  I think this would be a great addition to the dashboard and the users to see there progress and best without having to scroll through hundreds of activities.

Thanks

@runmamarun An excellent suggestion that would overcome the tedious scrolling through the activities.

A couple of years ago before Fitbit made changes we used to be able to click on a date on the Calendar within the Activity Log and the scrolling would start at that date.Smiley Sad

Hey! I think this is an awesome option to keep a good tracking of the activities!

I would love to be able to download my activity list to excel, then I could filter by type. I ride my bike every day to work and would love to see the total time, avg speed, cal burn, distance (for evaluating which route is fastest). Also would love to see how many km I put on my bike each week, month, year.

Agreed!  We need to be able to filter activities by a specific activity (like running) and then provide the ability to view a time period (day, week, month, year) to see all the stats, like total miles, minutes, calories, etc. for the selected period.  Also, from that screen, should be able to choose the previous or next time period so it's easy to see if you increased stats from month to month.

I agree! This is a much needed feature. The data is all there.

I completely agree. I used my Fitbit Charge HR for daily activity but wear a Garmin during training runs/activity because I can track specific exercises. I just purchased the FitBit Blaze and love it! The only thing I don't like is that I can't track my training runs/activities separate from everyday walking/movement to see what I've accomplished year over year. This would be an awesome feature to add. Incredibly beneficial.

It is shocking to me that a pioneering brand such as Fitbit has not made this a priority as it continues to court hard core users from the likes of Garmin and other competitors.

The Surge, which I bought a few months ago, sets the standard for "in-run" metrics that can be displayed and the simple music controls it provides. It seems that in taking the Surge to market that Fitbit recognizes the intense workout market segment (as opposed to the simple step counter origins it started with) but we need to be able to see more after the fact.

Filters PLEASE!?!?

Filter by activity

Filter by date

Filter by distance

And please oh please if I enter an activity as a RUN tell me why it dumps everything I do into a "step counter" bucket when I sync to Endomondo (which I used to use with my old Garmin) because it already has years of workout history. History that is now muddied because my runs are no longer runs...

I bought a Surge. I'm committed to Fitbit. Please let us statistics geeks love Fitbit for what it gives us during AND AFTER exercise

Have you considered added sort functionality to the Activities Log (web based dashboard not the app) or compare functionality so a user can review how the activities they have logged are improving or trending.

For example - Circuit Training, in order to compare how I am trending week to week or month to month I have to track that in a separate spreadsheet or individually pull up the different session information from my fitibit account. there is no easy way to get a read on individual activities and their impact or lack. Maybe this is also something you should consider expanding upon in the premium offer as well.

Part of the reason people track is to see "am I improving or slipping", and the premium, functionality is good to some extent for that from an over all perspective in getting more details, but would love the ability to do so by activity. It could even be as simple as adding a drill down trend line into the activities log to do a weekly, monthly, yearly view by activity or activities.

Seems so obvious that I've spent ages looking for it.

I log everything, and also get a number of auto logged events, so it's really difficult to just see how my running times have changed and filter something out.

Come on Fitbit! Surely not rocket science? 🙂

I can only agree with this.

I'm about to keep track of my kilometers by month on paper...

I'm away to do a 1000 mile challenge next year so this would be incredibly handy for submitting my milage at the end of the year.

Found a work around of sorts. Unfortuately the Fitbit folks have not helped us with this but I found a way to get ALL of your info so you can import into a better stats product. You can't do a mass export and import as that only gives you a few spreadsheet columns but if you click on your activities and find your run in "Activity History" >>> "View Details" you can click the three dots at the top righyt next to your pace and "export as a TCX" file which can then be imported into another service (mine is Endomondo) with all off the telemetry.

It's a PITA if you are trying to import hundreds of runs but if you are starting off the year fresh you can keep up with it on a regular basis and make it work for you

Hi runnerrunner88,

It seems that exporting a TCX file from Fitbit website only contains data if the device (or the run (HR+smartphone)? ) has been GPS tracking enabled. When I export data from a run, the file only contains a header line and no data.  This also seems to match the logic that the TCX file extension is a proprietary format owned by Garmin, a GPS specialist (more info: link

Filtering activities by type is such basic functionality, I don't even understand why we have to request it, why it is not implemented by default...

It would be great to have a way to filter or sort the activity list by specific activity. That way, we can track progress of particular exercises, like running, over time.

Well, when is this happening? I'd love to see this feature!!

I just started running and i'd love to see my progress 🙂

Please can this happen in the next update?

I agree, being able to sort the activities by sport would be a big help, instantly giving us the ability to see progress, history, etc.  Currently we have to page down and try to note any of the occurrences of the specific activity, and then jot it down.  Since the data is already there, it should be relatively easy to add a sort function

really need workout type filter, what is the point of using a Fitbit as a runner if i cant compare easily. might as well use another platform without this - has to be a priority in the next update!

sorry FitBit I got a Garmin Vivoactive HR and it's the best GPS enabled tracker I've ever had by far. Completely customizable with all the metrics you could want.

The only reason I'm posting is that I got a notification that someone else posted to this thread.
