Ability To Edit Manually Logged Exercise Type

I'm not sure what has changed, but it seems that I am no longer able to Edit Activities.  This seems like a huge inconvenience.  Sometimes having to enter actvities can be annoying, but it's helpful to have that feature.  What is annoying is that if I make a mistake, I am unable to correct it without having to delete and restart.  I bought this Fitbit to make tracking my exercise easier, not more difficult.  I am trying to find reasons to continue using it, but making tracking harder is not helping.  Please fix!  Thanks so much!

The auto activity tracking is great but it picked up me mowing lawns as biking.  I just need the ability to change it to reflect correctly.  I've read that you can edit it once, but I wasn't even able to do that

You can't edit it. Simple programming change. They won't fix it.

Thanks,

Good luck with that!

alfbro Jogger - no luck needed.  Check out the screenshot from my app (iOS).  You can edit start and stop time.  Go to the specific exercise, tap the "..." (3 dots) in the top right, select "Edit Exercise Details".

Ahhhh.....you're on IOS.

My android version hasn't updated.

Yeah iOS had the capability before, then it was removed, and now it's back (judging by the history of posts in this thread). But Android and web never have. We're still waiting.

yes IOS have a certain amount of editability. However you can only change the exercise title to a short list of activities decided by fitbit!! run, golf, interval training, walk, bike, hike.

It can't be that hard for them to enable us to change the activity to whatever we want including our custom activities. This would resolve so many issues. Horseriders and skiers etc would be able to use the bike riding mode so that there are no steps counted but you have gps for your route and HR data and then just edit the name afterwards.

But i also agree you need to sort this out for android users and also enable the edit for the web.

Aghhhhhhhh! FITBIT so near but so far!!!!!!!!

Has the option of editing an end time been enabled?

Yes I can delete the exercise and manually log it , but then the heart rate info is lost....

My Charge HR records lawn mowing as Outdoor Bike, and until yesterday (17 April), I was able to go into the activities list on the web site dashboard and rename the activity as Mowing Lawn.  WHY has this convenient feature been disabled?????

HR 2 owner here. I wrongly thought I could hit the button to begin a run, start any exercise and then edit category it in dashboard if not on mobile dashboard. How wrong I was. If I start activity manually the EDIT functionality is gone.Where is PENCIL icon???

Very frustrating.

Surly the ability to edit the duration of activity time should be plausible. I can't possibly be the first 5,000th person to set the timer for a specific activity and FORGET TO STOP THE TIMER when I'm done.
Pretty ridiculous that editing this information isn't an option.

I read somewhere that the concern is the possibility of cheating in the challenges.  As far as I understand, THERE IS NO PRIZE except for the satisfaction of doing them.  Thus, we would only be cheating ourselves.

In conclusion, it's Fitbit that's cheating us out of our hard work!! >:|

1) Why would you take the feature away?

2) Why wouldn't you put it back after leagues of people obviously would benefit from the ability to edit a workout?

Good grief!

Yeah, I hated losing my HR data. I have now resolved to do the workout and make a notation in my notes. I do wish Fitbit would fix this.

I thought this issue was fixed with a recent update. I had posted on FB and immediately got a reply. That's a good way too (and so might be Twitter). I haven't downloaded the newest version, have they taken the feature away again?

@kaplein the feature has never been available for web or android users, only iPhone. So many of us haven't technically lost the ability since we never even had it to begin with.

I agree that with you and @aubie8 that perhaps this will get more exposure with twitter or facebook. We are definitely just talking amongst ourselves here without it making any impact at fitbit where anything can be done about it. Additional replies here continue to just reiterate the same things.

There is an edit button but doesn't let me edit the workout portion. Maybe
only on exercises that happen since the update. I tried to update the old
ones that messed up. Ill have to check

it's absolute crap that you don't allow editing activity.  It's a non-issue to edit in mapMyRun.

Indeed that sure is a very needed, and basic function to be expected - it's ridiculous FitBit has decided to opt-out.

About Time they hear the community and not just show maintain the appearance of it.

People need this one - and they should! those who don't - well don't use it.

btw did they at any point said why they don't have such a basic function!

We're working on adding the edit feature to the Fitbit app. Thank you for the feedback!

In addition to being able to add steps or stairs when I forgot to wear my fitbit or it simply didn't count stairs, I'd like to be able to delete stuff as well. Sometimes I spend a lot of time on the ground. And every time I stand up it thinks I climbed a flight of stairs. So being able to add or delete stairs/steps would be helpful to maintain accuracy.

This should be broken up into multiple different votes.  Editing the tags (e.g. changing the workout type from "run" to "treadmill" or changing the workout window time from 09:00 - 13:00 to 09:00 - 09:30) is not the same as changing the CONTENT of the workout (e.g. changing the run distance from 1 mile to 20 miles).  I want the ability to track my workouts using the app, but right now it contains labeling errors, and these errors presently cannot be fixed.

This inability to shorten routes and detect "car speeds" is the biggest reason that I still prefer Strava for so much of my general activity tracking.

Fitbit is so bad at detecting that I got into my car without stopping the activity, even though it can smart track when I got for a walk. It is very unlikely that there is a good reason for this.

This is the number one time that I want to edit an activity.

The other time is when I start or end at someone's home, and I need to shorten the route so that it does NOT lead people right to someone's front door.
