Safety catch on Luxe Stainless steel mesh strap

Hi!

I hear that users have issues with the strap because of the magnetic clasp. It seems the strap actually comes undone every time the magnet catches on metal objects and the watch will fall to the floor, which is very very concerning. Could you make a change so if I did catch it on something, the loop could stay on my wrist?

Thank you

I love the look of the stainless steel Luxe mesh strap. I think that it is beautiful and exactly what I wanted, but I have a strong feeling that I'm going to lose my FitBit because of this magnet. I'm very concerned. I think that YC_'s idea is fantastic!

Yes it is frustrating I love my watch and the way it looks great for casual or dress.  Mine also catches the car, my washer, my metal backdoor and just now my bread box 3 times.  Please help with a solution

Yes, mine has fallen off multiple times and I’ve only had for a few weeks! Fortunately, I have found under my desk at work and in the car and bed but worried I will lose it for good. Great marketing strategy?

I had to stop wearing bc I was afraid I was going to loose it.

Have we made any progress here? I have tried several substitute bands that all work fine but they wear very quickly and don't look anywhere near as nice as this one. I can't use this one as is. My Fitbit has come off my wrist and been left on other metal items too many times. I am sure it will break or get permanently lost if I use it as it is.

I can't believe this product made it through testing like this. I am sure all users have the same issue. I hope for a fix!

I would like to add my comment to the others about the issue with the magnetic clasp. Yesterday my watch was pulled off while getting on an escalator at the airport. If the kind person behind me had not seen this happen and retrieved it for me, I would never have known what happened to it. Please add a safety catch or some other option as I love this band and don't want to have to go back to the rubber one. Thank you!

This was happening to mine too. To the car, the laptop, the fridge, the camping chair and now I've lost it. So cranky that I didn't follow through and get a new band that actually was for purpose and did it's one job .. Stayed on! Not good enough.

If i had known this was an issue i would not have ordered the strap. It is beautiful but a major problem. This needs to be resolved by Fitbit.

Same problem - I have had my new Luxe for a month with the stainless steel strap (which is sharp looking, btw) and it's come off twice. A helpful person at the restaurant I lost it at gave it to the front desk or I wouldn't have it now.

My problem is not that it sticks to other metal, it's that the clasp itself is simply not secure enough. I specifically ordered a nicer looking band because I wanted to wear it all the time and not take it off for dates, etc. But simply sliding the strap of my purse down my wrist has popped it off. NOT HAPPY. Why in the world would you design this with a solely magnetic clasp and expect people to wear it all the time? NOT SMART.

I'd like a fix for this, fitbit. It was to expensive of a purchase to have it not stay on my wrist properly.

I totally agree. I just sent mine back. Loved the look but didn't want to risk losing my watch. Fitbit needs to come up with a better closure. Not rocket science.

Totally agree with all that's been said but this is my third fitbit and they all have come apart....the face is not a strong fix to the strap...so with the rubber ones it happened after about 6 months and I had to keep buying new straps as they get weak. With this new Luxe like everyone else it's already come off once and now I've spent ages trying to find a gold safety chain that will fit through the links with the clasps but I've not found one yet. So permanently terrified it will come apart and drop to the floor and I'll either lose it or the face will get scratched which happened with all my other fitbits. So...please design a safety chain for all of us who have already purchased...moving forward change the design....but please design a chain and send it to people who've already purchased it as currently we can't wear them without fear of losing all the time.
