I have spent hours on this issue and have made no progress. I got Acorns early so that I could link it to my child's Fitbit ACE LTE and I have uninstalled and re-installed both apps on my phone, restarted my phone, factory reset the watch and set it back up again and I still get an error "something went wrong please try again" every time I try to link the card in the app.
Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? I have run out of ideas and have tried everything that I have come across.

I was having this too. Although now the acorns early option is gone from the Ace app altogether. Maybe they are fixing it?
