Fitbit ACE LTE keeps restarting even when "always on screen" is set to true

I noticed my child's watch keeps restarting. I am wearing the watch now to see why it's doing that.  I am wearing the watch tightly on my wrist so there's no way it thinks it's off wrist.

What I found was even when the Settings -> Display,  "always on screen" is set to true the watch keeps restarting itself when I am wearing it. It ends up burning all the battery to restart and starts to feel warm.

As I am typing this message, the watch does this in a loop:

1. Watch shows Fitbit ACE LTE "v" sign logo.

2. Watch shows "starting..."

3. Watch goes to the watch face and the screen is "bright".

4. Screen dims after a few seconds.

5. Screen goes completely blank after maybe a minute and immediately loops back to step 1 even without any wrist movement.

I've already performed a factory reset. I will contact support for a replacement on Monday.

I'm not sure Fitbit Support could honor a request for an exchange.  If you purchased the device directly from them and it's within the warranty period, absolutely, they should be able to replace it.  Otherwise you would have to abide by the retailer's policy where you originally purchased your device and go through an exchange with that retailer.

That said, what you're experiencing is not normal behavior.  When you contact Fitbit Support, you should ask for a Battery Test to help diagnose the issue.
