We have this watch for our child and are enjoying the benefits of it so far. We want to be able to allow messaging with a family member who lives abroad. The app is listed as not available in that country via Google Play however. I understand that the watch may not be sold outside the US, but the app should still be available anywhere to allow messaging with a US-based device owner.

Hi everyone, I can confirm that we are prioritizing countries for the app based on customer requests, so please do follow RiekoC's suggestion (and include the country/countries in your comment!).
Unfortunately the Fitbit Ace app requires extra infrastructure and compliance work for each new country, so as much as we'd love to there isn't a single switch to turn on all countries. We're working on it one country at a time -- and based on your feedback, so please keep it coming!
Hello @hcube and welcome to the Community. I'm not a Fitbit employee, but I'm sure Fitbit wants to make it available internationally. This forum is monitored for feedback. You can also give feedback directly to Fitbit/Google from the Ace LTE app. Tap on your profile picture and there is a Feedback option.
I'm a long time Fitbit user and this is a major change in any Fitbit. Baby steps.

I'm sure they'd like the device to be available everywhere they can.
I was speaking only to the app being available in a country that has the Google Play Store in this case.
My invitation was received but my family can't download the app due to restrictions in the app store.
@hcube I understood your question. I'm confident that Fitbit/Google are working on making the app available worldwide, for the reason you stated here.

I second the request. My child just got the Fitbit from a relative who lives in Europe but they cannot download the app. We knew the unit itself only works on the u.s. but didn't expect the contacts to be restricted. Hopefully this will be added in time.
Best AnswerIf you haven't already done so, please consider adding your vote and comments to this feature request: Allow Fitbit Ace app to be downloaded internationally (<-- click link). The developers monitor the Product Feedback forum to see what features are being requested for potential future implementation.

Hello @naxnaman
Please add your vote & comment to the feature request in my previous reply. Be sure to mention that you'd like to see app support in the Philippines in your comments.

Best AnswerHello @MamabearCANADA
Currently, the Ace LTE is limited to the USA. Please see this page (<-- click link). You probably will need to return the Ace LTE until it becomes available for Canada.
Last that I saw, the team is working on expanding availability internationally, but I haven't seen a timeline for this.

Best AnswerHi @Daniela8. I'm sorry, the Ace LTE is still US only, excluding Alaska and US territories.
