My version is the 32.331.1.30.  How do I get the firmware update to 38.68.9.15?

In the end, the only way that I could update it was to go on my PC
(smartphone and ipad didn't seems to work). I entered into the account and
scrolled down to the bottom of the left hand panel, to Help. On the right
hand panel I clicked on Versa update, which then notified me that there was
a firmware update for my Versa. After updating the Firmware I could
download Spotify and have used it at the gym this morning.

Good luck.

grumpyguts2, on your PC are you using the Fitbit Connect application?

Thought you were onto something. I have a Mac and I installed Fitbit Connect. It has an option to check for updates, but it says my watch is updated. Sadly I am back to square one.

I've read all of these comments on this post, and had no luck. I've tried restarting, reinstalling etc etc and absolutely nothing has changed - even followed the last post

It looks like it's up to date, but it seems like there's a bit of miscommunication or something between fitbit and Spotify. Bit annoying really. Hope they can sort this out soon, a lot of people seem to be having the same problem

As with everyone else, it seems, I had no joy with this for nearly a fortnight.  I cannot understand why Fitbits don't automatically download the latest Firmware when they are set up.  It is a poor feature in a good product.

I only succeeded when I opened the Fitbit site on my PC , (I could not get it to work on my smartphone or my ipad) opened my account and scrolled down to "Help." When opened there is a window offering Versa update.  This didn't work first time but I persevered and it worked and I can now use Spotify on my Versa at the gym.

Good luck.

Ok so I'm in the new year now, got my Fitbit Vera Lite and it's still not 4.20 and I have all day sync and my versa still hasn't updated so therefore I can not download Spotify. Is the new update out yet or am I missing something? PS I can download any other app except Spotify

As mentioned in my previous posts... despite being told that I have the latest Firmware on my Versa Lite by both Fitbit Support and the Mac Fitbit Connect app, the Fitbit app on my Pixel 4 was annoyingly and constantly telling me I don't have the latest version required to install the Spotify app... like numerous others on this thread.

Just last night the Fitbit app informed me there was a firmware update available for my Versa Lite.

It took over an hour to download and install, but it finally finished (don't get me started on the crappy customer experiences I've had so far)... and...

I WAS ABLE TO INSTALL THE SPOTIFY APP! 😎

Freakin' amazing.

The Fitbit app error handling and version compatibility checks are a mess, and support is unable to fix a thing here, but at least the post-latest 🤔 firmware version did the trick. But why... does... it... have... to... be... so... **ahem**... frustrating!?

Yippppeeee, good for you. Satisfying isn’t it when done? But agreed, the support from Fitbit is really crap.

I’m using it at the gym now and it is worthwhile.

Now that I've had the Spotfiy app installed for about 2 days, I have some experience to share. There are are a few significant shortcomings with it. Shortcomings that render the Spotify app on my Fitbit Versa Lite pretty much useless.

1. The Fitbit app does not stay connected to Spotify. I have Spotify premium family plan. You need to login to your Spotify account from the Fitbit app's Spotify settings. Problem is that it keeps reverting back to Spotify Free, which doesn't work with the watch. EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE SPOTIFY FROM MY WATCH, I NEED TO FIRST RE-LOGIN TO SPOTIFY IN THE FITBIT APP.  Seriously, this is stupid. I don't even need to re-enter credentials, I just need to re-agree to terms and conditions EVERY TIME I USE IT. Dumb dumb dumb.

2. Because of #1, you can never use Spotify on your watch to control Spotify on your phone when disconnected from cell data or wifi. ie. You can't use it to control Spotify for offline music when you have no data coverage. Huge limitation for me.

3. The Spotfiy app lets you choose from playlists or your library, but you cannot select an individual song from a playlist. It's not possible. I could live with this if #1 and #2 weren't serious problems.

Clearly Spotfiy should not be your primary reason for purchasing a Fitbit. IMO, forget about the Spotify app on your Fitbit Versa. It's far more frustrating than it is useful.

My recommendation:

If the Fitbit marketing and ads touting Spotify support have you thinking to spend a bit more on a Versa instead of Inspire, DON'T DO IT. Buy the cheaper Fitbit, and forget about Spotify on your Fitbit.

This is happening to me as well on my Versa. I have firmware version 32.33.1.30. No updates are available. Will the newest firmware so I CAN install spotify be released soon? This is the only reason I bought this watch and it won't even do what it's supposed to. Bummed out.

Thanks in advance for the answer!

Hi,

Referring to your earlier posts. I am using Fitbit Versa with 33.1.30 version. I am also not able to install spotify. It gives the same message "To install this app, make sure that the Fitbit app on your phone and your Fitbit device have the latest update". I am from India and have a premium account of spotify. Any solutions ?? when will the update come for my versa?

Thanks

I got it on eventually bu uploading most recent Firmware, but it works only sporadically. Not great. There is nothing about it when you buy it. But I notice in today's email they claim it now links BUT only on Premium. Disappointing.

But how did you install the latest firmware. I tried the method that was listed by you in your previous post but came with no success. I have dropped an email to FITBIT people as well. Hoping they can help.

I’m no great computer whizz but found the new firmware through the Fitbit app. I can’t remember precisely how but somewhere in setting there is the ability to update the firmware.Best of luck.Gr
