I lost my friends when I was forced to merge my original fitbit account to my google account

After I updated my app on my apple phone  I couldn't pair my fitbit Charge 4 to my phone.  So i uninstalled the app and re-installed it. When I logged back in to the app and paired my fitbit, I was forced to merge my account to my google email account.  Now all of my friends are gone.  I'm really disappointed that this happened.  I've been a fitbit user for many years.  This is my 4th tracker.  It's now my last tracker.  I'm switching to an Apple Watch.
