New version of the fitbit app hangs when examining a running session.

I have been in continous communication with support but no help just strange suggestions that consume my time.

I have tried it on both Ipad and Iphone with the same or similar result.

I have a fitbit charge 5 which is kind of useless without a working app.

I have the same experience.   After each run, I need to try multiple times to get a sync to work (I restart the app before each try).   Then when it finally does sync and I examine the run details, sometimes it hangs, sometimes only shows the summary but no map, and sometimes it works.
