Release Date of New Apps? - Gold's Gym, Mindbody, etc

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Back in December during the Fitbit 3.0 announcement, Fitbit also mentioned new third-party apps coming in "early 2019" including Gold's Amp, Mindbody, Noonlight, and TRX. It's almost the end of Q1, and there's been no updates on the status of when these apps will be released. I know it's unlikely anyone will have any insider info they can share, but posting in case the mods are able to provide any more information on the release date? In particular, I'm interested in Mindbody.

Hello there @avocadotoast, it's nice to see you around here! There are tons of apps that use our Open API to integrate their service with ours. The best way to tell if an app is compatible with Fitbit is to go to the third-party site (or app) and poke around their settings to see if you can connect Fitbit. You can also browse their site for information or contact the app owner and ask if they integrate with Fitbit.

There are a few places you can see what the app has access to. Keep in mind that 'access' to something (e.g. sleep, weight) doesn't necessarily mean they use or sync that data, it largely depends on how they built their integration.

Screenshot 1: You can see what data is being requested when you first link an app.

Screenshot 2: Your app settings shows what data you gave the app access to.

The most standard troubleshoot across all integrations is to unlink the connection from both sides (Fitbit and third-party side), then link the accounts again. In the rare case that it's a Fitbit side issue, more than just one particular app will be affected. It's usually best to contact the app owner if the integration seems broken.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I"m not sure you actually read my post? I'm not asking how to check what third parties integrate with Fitbit. I'm asking about unreleased third-party apps that Fitbit has already announced and and confirmed will be "coming soon", and whether there is an estimated release date. Since Fitbit did officially announce these, I assume I am not expected to "poke around" in their websites to find an integration.

I'm referring to this press release from December: https://investor.fitbit.com/press/press-releases/press-release-details/2018/Fitbit-Enhances-Health-a...

Specifically, the section where it says:

Additional third-party apps coming in early 2019 include:

  • Charity Miles: Syncs with your Fitbit activity data to raise money for 40 of the world’s top charities for every mile logged.
  • FitBark: Helps you and your dog get healthy together by showing your daily Fitbit stats such as activity, distance and calories burned alongside those of your canine companion.
  • GOLD’S AMP for Fitbit (Gold’s Gym): Experience a variety of cardio and strength workouts designed for your wearable by expert Gold’s Gym Coaches. Receive guidance through every step of your workout, including visual demos, a countdown timer and interval cues with vibrating alerts.
  • MINDBODY: Keep your fitness and wellness top of mind with the ability to check the schedule at your favorite studios and view your upcoming MINDBODY classes from your wrist.
  • Noonlight: Protects and comforts you with advanced safety features that you can activate from your wrist, making it easier than ever before to get emergency assistance.
  • TRX ®: Guided workouts coach you through quick and effective TRX Suspension Training® workouts that track biometrics using your Fitbit data, helping you get stronger and reach your fitness goals.

Hello @avocadotoast! Thanks for your reply and for clarifying what you want. I apologize por the misunderstanding and for the delay in my response. I appreciate your interest in the App Gallery apps. The particular apps you’re looking for aren’t available yet, I can't give you a date for the release of those apps as you requested, but you can check from time to time as our developer community frequently adds new apps. Meanwhile I encourage you to consider the many apps and clock faces available in the Fitbit App Gallery.

Please let me know if you have more questions. Robot Happy

It's now July, well beyond what could be considered "early 2019" and these apps are still not released. Fitbit has such a poor record of announcing upcoming releases and then never actually launching or providing any followup (Dexacom, SP02...)

@AlexandraFitbit The mentioned apps are not from the developers community (developers that still do not have any way to see stats about their app and to monetize their efforts) but from declared Fitbit partners.

If these apps are no longer coming (maybe because those partners change their mind?) please be honest and tell.
