Weather app is not updating on my Versa

A few days ago I noticed the weather not updating.  When I click on my weather app,  it says sync the fitbit mobile app to update.  So I sync the app and it does not update.  I checked my location services,  I restarted my phone,  I even restarted my fitbit.  It won't let me uninstall and reinstall.  Can anyone help?

I've found recently that if I synch every morning and every night, it works pretty well. Not all the time, but usually.

Thank you for suggestion. I appreciate it. I’ll try syncing before bed. I already sync every morning, because I HAVE to. The problem is that half the time my Fitbit can’t find my phone, even though it right next to my bed and literally on top of my phone while syncing. Also, 2-3 times during the day I have to resync AGAIN. My Charge 2 didnt have any problem syncing & staying synced. I waste soooo much time now!!!

The simple solution is to either return your product or ask Fitbit to refund your money. The operating system is obviously quirky and unreliable. It turns what is marketed as a smart watch into just a watch that counts steps and gets text/call notifications. Not worth the money to me. I’m glad I returned mine and spent an extra $100 on what has been a much more reliable watch—Apple series 3.

I add the city and state and sync and it immediately disappears! Every so
often it will save after the sync but it never communicates with the watch
😞

I have never been able to get the weather up and working on my Versa 2 until now.  Not sure if this will help.  You need to enter a specific location.  Just showing current location did not work for me.  When I added the city and state in which I live and then synced with the app, it worked!!

Thank you for attempting to help. I grately appreciate it! However, I’ve done this multiple time and when I go to sync, the device removes my locations. It’s frustrating!! I finally called Fitbit and was told there is a glitch in the software and they are working on it. But, they couldn’t tell me when this would be resolved. It’s not only weather issues with my Fitbit now. I’m about ready to get my money back. I spend sooooo much time trying to get it to stay synced and not enjoying any benefits. Take care!

Ya, great idea until you’re not in that city and that weather info becomes irrelevant.

Unfortunately every time I add the location and then sync, it deletes the
location or locations I enter. Thank you for the suggestion though...

I received my Versa fit bit as a Christmas present.   Since that time I have had to call Fitbit tech service 4 times to get fit bit weather app to work.  Fixes never lasted more than 3-4 days.  On last call, the tech began to repeat the same stuff that failed apparently thinking that if you try something that fails enough times it will work.  At that point I escalated call to a supervisor and after some back and forth discussion finally got him to reveal this problem has existed for some time for numerous varieties of Fitbits.  Says they are working on a solution but could not predict when a solution would be had.  I asked why do they then continue to sell their products with the defective weather app.  Of course no answer.  Never got to ask why Versa does not record steps taken when on a treadmill while holding treadmill handles.  So basically I have watch that needs recharging about every four days.  I would never recommend a Fitbit product to anyone.

I agree with you that I would never recommend a Fitbit. When I need to
replace this defected one I will spend a little bit more money and get an
Apple watch.

I've been contacting fitbit since Dec 27 (my third fitbit was a cmas gift)  to correct the weather app that isn't syncing.  I spent three days on the phone with customer service resetting and resyncing and nothing has worked.  We had an email thread going since Jan 13 with no solution for fixing the software problem.  I've asked several times to return my device but they kept saying a solution was coming in a few days.  As of today, it is too late to return the device.  This is not good customer service.  I was put off and delayed and now can't return a faulty product?  All my other devices were great.  What's up with this??

I completely know what you mean. It’s too late for me to send mine back AND the 2 I bought as Christmas gifts. I’m ticked!!! Also, I went back to my old Charge 2 with a broken band clasp and it still works great, in spite of the duct tape holding it together. I just upgraded for additional features for convenience (what?) and working band. I feel like I’ve been swindled!!! No wonder they offered the discount.

Your supervisor “escalation” was nearly verbatim to the one I had with them
2 months ago where the best answer I received was that this is a “known
issue”. Well no kidding! I have an iPhone so I am going to an Apple Watch
ASAP!

That’s good to know! I returned mine last week but really would like to buy one that actually does work. Maybe I’ll try again.

I gave up on my Fitbit last week because it completely failed to reinstall at all to update the software. Then decided to try one more time from scratch, and mysteriously it started to work in all the apps and functions. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
