The weather app on my fitbit doesn't work.  It did when I first got it

The message I keep getting is no weather data available.  Sync the fitbit mobile app to update

My phone has just updated the app and its still not working

Hi @Loumetcalf - no problem, go into the Fitbit App, click profile photo [top left], device photo [middle left], Gallery tile, your device in the top 3 tabs, scroll down to Weather, then click Settings.

There you can adjust weather temperature and cities. Current location works, with no cities (they may need to be removed)

Also check permissions.

Then sync the watch.

Hi, it may be that your watch is not syncing well.

Best to start with restarting phone and Watch and syncing and try again.

Once you are syncing, go to the Weather app in the Fitbit App, Apps section and check it's permissions and add current location in Weather settings and sync and try again.

If still no success, try a clear cache and force stop of the Fitbit App, and as a last resort uninstall the Fitbit App and reinstall and redo notifications and App notifications and any special settings.

Hi there, @Loumetcalf. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3.

If the weather is still not updating please take @Guy_'s post into consideration and also check the following settings:

  • Location services must be turned on for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
  • The Fitbit app must remain running in the background on your phone.

If you change locations, sync your device to see your new location in the Weather app. If you're running into syncing difficulties, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Last but not least, may I know what kind of issues you were having with your Versa 3? Did you manage to solve them? Were they syncing issues?

By the way, I've moved your post to the Fitbit App Gallery board for organization purposes.

Hope that helps.

I tried all of the suggestions that are listed in this forum. I had no luck at all. While I have no idea about what I should do, I just kept at it until I managed to actually fix the problem by going to “settings” in the weather app. There were three cities listed. The first was “current location,” “my city” and a “second city” that I am following. I couldn’t do anything about “current location” but I did delete “my city” leaving just the two cities: my location and the city I’m watching.

Voila, success!  Good luck. I hope this helps.

I was having the same problem. Deleted the Fitbit app. Reinstalled it, restarted my Versa etc. Nothing worked. So I tried you're suggestion and deleted all cities but my location and it's working. Thanks!!

Best Answer

If after checking, the weather app may need to be stepped back from multiple cities. This happened to me after doing a firmware update.

Hope this helps. Couldn’t hurt.

That's what I did. Deleted the other cities and works again. Thanks for the tip!!

1,000,000 thanks for this info.  i have tried for 2 weeks to get weather to work.  guess i can't have 2 locations, such poor app development

Best Answer

this works, just can't access 2 cities.  you would think fitbit developer would correct this, but alas why would they take care of their customers.

Thanks so so much for this as I have tried for weeks as well to get weather to update on my Versa 3.  Including reboot to my phone and tracker both.  1 city it is.

have you deleted any other cities and have just  “current location” on the weather settings?

Best Answer

Have you deleted all cities and then added only just your current location.  Mine still only works with 1 location
