I want to track my paddle board and kayak workouts anyone have any advice on which exercise app I could use? I wonder if the swim app would do that but the gas results are much different than laps, unless it would just record the mileage.

I see this is two years old. Is there any update on when paddle boarding/kayaking will be trackable, especially with GPS capability?? We need this asap please!

Hello @Doit_anyway and welcome to the Help forums. The Charge 4 has an exercise shortcut called Outdoor Workout. The icon is a person in a kayak. It is a GPS exercise, designed for things like kayaking and downhill skiing. There is a firmware update rolling out to the Ionic/Versa family. I don't know if it includes Outdoor Workout or not. My husband hasn't received the update for his Ionic. Since you are asking in the App Gallery, I assume you have an Ionic or Versa. I'm hoping you get an Exercise Shortcut and won't need an app.

I just received the Versa firmware update and am sooooooooo disappointed that Fitbit didn't add this shortcut.
So I started a Feature Suggestion. Please vote and comment.

” Only a subset of exercises support GPS: run, hiking, walk, cycling and golf. “
so I can’t add this “kayak” and let it Save a track to Fitbit.com, it will show a track on the (versa) watch.
It’s in a beta phase. Contact me if you will testrun it for me.

Strava tracks kayaking. I use it to track my Kayaks. But I just got the versa 3 (upgrade from my blaze) and I'm not sure how to see Kayaks on my Fitbit. I can see my rides, but not the kayaks. Anyone else know?

Does anyone know what happens when selecting cycle or run to track kayaking using GPS? I'd love to get the Versa 3 but this issue is leaning me away from Fitbit...

I recently upgraded to the Charge 4, and while there is no specific kayaking activity, there is now a generic "Outdoor Workout" activity - when paired with the now built-in GPS is does track and map your distance, and contributes to your Active Zone minutes (which is a new metric, at least for me). It still doesn't translate your workout into steps (I suspect because there are too many variables with it being a generic activity tracker), but if you set you goals based on active zone minutes per day instead of steps per day then this works by contributing to that goal. As kayaking, biking and hiking are my 3 main outdoor activities, I'm happy with the upgrade as the Charge 4 does a good job with all of them in terms of active zone minutes.

Will this work for kayaking?

The only option I see is "Golf", because a kayaker doesn't strike me as a golfer. Bu I might be wrong...
In other words, to be very short: "NO΅ kayaking is not a "valid" option for using GPS tracking. (But golf does!)
