In the future will there be a contacts app on the Sense so we can text and call from our device?

Not sure why you would need that. You have to be connected to your phone anyway and there is a contacts list there.

If you say "Call <persons name in your contacts> in Google Assistant on your watch your phone will dial that person. The text might work too by saying "Text <contact name> but I have not tried that. Let us know if that worked for you and if the text also works. They will not put Contacts on the watch because people have to many contacts and the file would be too big to be on the watch.

Hope so. It would be much easier to make a call from the watch. My Samsung Active Watch 2 had a contacts app and could make and take calls. Plus the speaker quality was on another level.

Currently a user can not make calls or initiate a text message from wrist..
I don't think a contact app would be benaficial.

Actually you can make calls from the watch using Google Assistant, at least on mine and my wife's Pixel 4/3 XL's you can. Just hold in on the side button and ask Google to call someone. It works. I haven't tried initiating a text yet though, with Google Assistant. But other than that there's no other way to make a call from this watch, unless it works the same way with Alexa, which I do not use.

Samsung 9+
I too can have Alexa Initiate a phone call and OR a text from my watch
Very cool and convenient feature
Alexa has complete access to Contact so no need for a contact app from my end, AND if you say text/call (say Number) you can then ADD to your contacts when done

Still be nice if they added a contacts app to the app gallery though. Fitbit app gallery is embarrassingly thin. Not much on it. Contacts app would make it easier for a lot of people to make calls because some people might not know you can make a call using Alexa or Google Assistant. But that's just my opinion. My old Active Watch 2 had a contacts app and much better speaker by the way.

Sorry @MaddogWLV but Alexa on the Spence says otherwise.
@westsidekilla1 since this thread is about apps for the Trackers I will move the thread to the Fitbit App Gallery.

The Google Assistant will call someone from my watch if I ask it to but it just starts a speakerphone call on the phone, not the watch. So, there is no way to actually call someone from the watch alone and talk to them on the watch. Fitbit needs a contacts app so we could pick a contact, make the call and talk to them from the watch. I mean, the Sense has a mic and speaker so what's the deal? Why not make something like that available? Making calls from the watch and actually being able to talk to someone from the watch? It works the other way around on incoming calls. So why not make it where we can do outbound calls; like on my old Samsung Active Watch 2? Just crippling the Sense if you ask me because it's got everything it needs to make it happen. I just don't get it. Is it because Fitbit chose to put such a low volume speaker in the Sense? I'm still hoping the volume can be improved in the watch speaker. Cause it's extremely embarrassingly for a over $300 watch speaker. That's my opinion. And yes, I check to make sure volume on watch and phone are maxed out.

Fitbit says that you will not be able to initiate a call from the wrist and speak through the tracker..
My guess is that the programmers know what they programmed.
I would like to tell Alexa to ask Fitbit to make a call, in the way I can use alexa to start a walk, but it says that this is not supported.
