My versa 3 stopped working today at 49% charge. I cannot get it to turn on and it's getting hot when I put it on the charger. It's right over a year old. If it has already quit I will never own another fitbit product. It's getting ridiculous. I've owned so many and they end up quitting out of nowhere.

Hi @kghesriofjlsef - unfortunately your watch has internal damage, possibly from water getting in, stop charging immediately as it is dangerous, don't ever wear it either because there is a risk of burning yourself.

Do good research before getting another watch if it is outside warranty.

All of a sudden my fitbit sense started losing it's charge and getting hot yesterday (5/27). I had a fitbit ionic before that did the same thing and fitbit issued a recall with a refund to use on another watch. Thus the reason I have the fitbit sense. Is this a problem others may be experiencing or has mine just gone bad?

Mine is saying that it can’t charge because it’s below operating temperature and I need to warm it up

Hi @Heatedwatch - once it gets hot, it shouldn't be worn or charged because there is internal damage [some sort of shorting of the battery]. It can be caused by moisture getting in ro a simple watch fault. If it is still under warranty it can be replaced. Note: to avoid disappointment be ware that later models don't have all the features of the Sense.

Dear members,

I am experiencing contact dermatitis with strap for versa 3 Rash strap Versa 3Rash strap Versa 3

Could members share their experience of something similar?

I don't see any strap on the Fitbit store to suggest for allergy free alternatives.

Look forward to hearing from you all and your recommendations, Good health.

  • Warning to others. My 4 year old Versa 2 has overheated on charging enough to cause a small finger burn. Lucky the Grandchildren, who were in the room, didn’t touch it. Also lucky I was nearby as could cause fire. Connector on Fitbit showing signs of melting and smelt of burning. Be careful. Do not leave unattended whilst on charge.

I have had a charge 5 for 10 months. It was changed recently as it wasnt holding its charge. My new charge 5 is now causing me pain, tingling in hand. Has anyone else experienced this? My other charge 5 never did this.

Welcome to the forums, @Symmonz@JohnnyRow and @Grubboy Thanks for your input.

@Symmonz Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. As our friends mentioned, I also don't recommend adding any type of material on the back of your watch as it'll interfere with the sensors, as well as void the warranty.

I understand your concern and because your safety is our priority, I've requested a case on your behalf so our Support team can go ahead and see what can be done to help you out. You'll receive an email shortly, please make sure to check your inbox.

Anybody experienced this with the Fitbit Charge 5?

I was awoken in the early hours of this morning with my Fitbit vibrating very loudly. Scary really as I wondering I’ve had picked up in. health issue. I removed the device to find that my wrist under the device had been burnt. Device continued to vibrate. Tried resetting it with charging cable but screen black. Then came back on but is frozen & won’t swipe.

Tried Chat. Wasted 40 minutes of my life answering stupid questions then got disconnected.

Device is 18 months old. Ideally I would like to return it and have it checked. My 3rd Fitbit device and maybe my last as finding Support very poor.

Hi, @Dace welcome, you should not be having this experience with an 18-month-old device. You say your arm was burned, I assume the Charge 5 felt hot when you removed it (is this correct?). Allowing you made multiple attempts but failed to restart the charge 5 with the button press feature when attached to a "live" USB socket it sounds like you have a defective device. Depending on where you are and from whom you bought your device you may still have the benefit of Fitbit's return and warranty policy If "Customer Support" did not discuss this with you during your call you should contact them again using the chat facility or phone for a prompt response. Returning your device for repair or workshop evaluation is not available for Fitbit (I do not think any of the wearable manufacturers provide this service)

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Any one had a problem with smelly band? If I don’t remove my band for several hours, it smells stinky. I didn’t have this problem with previous version of Fitbit. My band is silicon I believe. But what makes it worse is that sometimes my skin reacts to it
