On "my name" where?  On the dashboard?  On the little picture that must seem to represent me?

OK I figured that out.  I clicked on my name in the message. But how do I get to that page from the dashboard?

You don't. Your personal stats dealing with your activity is one place.

Discussion board is another.

Obviously you can get to the Community and discussion board from the Dashboard.
