So I bought a fitbit with the promise of a years free premium. Except I have to give the company my personal credit card info to get it. I consider this an unnecessary invasion of privacy. I am not interested in giving out private credit card info to anyone unless I explicitly decide to purchase something. I am entitled to some consumer privacy protections here. I truly resent and am offended by this requirement. If I can't get the promised service without handing over private credit card info, I'll be looking for another fitness tracker.

@TerryDC Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.
I see where your disappointment is coming from. In order to activate the Free Premium trial, it's needed a credit card info to activate it. However, you could cancel it anytime before the subscription expires, this to ensure that you don't get charged for this if you decide to cancel it.
Find more information in our Fitbit Warranty and feel free to check out this article about Fitbit Premium.
See you around.
