I installed fitbit charge 5 and added my credit card for the 6 months free premium trial, but it won't open and gives me a message: purchase not allowed, why???

Hello @Rose2022

I'm not sure why and am only guessing.

Could it be a Credit Card problem?

If not, is your Charge 5 outside the time limit for the free Premium trial?

Another possibility to consider is whether you already have a paid subscription and want to switch to the free trial. If that's the case, you need to cancel your current subscription and then when that's stopped, you can start the free trial.

I've copied a link to the Help Pages for Premium and I'm hoping something there might help you.

Premium

I hope that helps a bit.

Thanks, but I just bought and installed the fitbit charge 5. My fitbit
charge 3 broke in July just past the warranty time. I did not have Premium
then at all. My Credit card has no problems and they would not charge me
until the 6th of February 22.
Now I will check your link and hopefully find an answer.
Regards,
Rose

Thanks for your answer,  nothing worked until I cleared my cache, my data, re-installed the app, re-entered my credit card and more or less started from scratch.

Not even their customer service could help me. 🙄

But at least now it is working.🙂

Thanks Rose2022,

I have been having this problem for more than a month and the folks in Fitbit Support were clueless as to how to fix it. They last suggested that I contact Google to resolve the problem. I did as you directed, clear app cache, data, uninstall, and re-installed. Everything works now.
