Hi all
My first official post after being a 5+ year fitbit owners. (More then one device over the years of course, they are good but not that good to last that long)
Anyway decided to upgrade my Versa with the new Charge 5.
Went for though the pre order for the Charge 5 and decided to take the 6 months trial with the Charge 5.
Here is where I need your help.
The premium subscription did not arrive with the Charge 5, (remember the charge 5 is pre order now, shipping end of September) , the premium started the day I did the pre order for the Charge 5.
Why?
Scenario 1 (me) - I own already a fitbit so it enabled immediately even though I didn't want to start yet, I wanted it with my new fitbit.
Scenario 2 ( new fitbit user) - It starts the day a new user buys the pre-order and he/she is losing time of the premium because he/she does not yet have the fitbit which will ship in a months time.
Coming back to my question, WHY did fitbit premium start the day of the pre-order and not the day of the shipment/arrival of the product in question.
In my opinion, it should start / come with, the product I order and not straight away.
Thoughts ?

Yes, I just did the pre order today for my wife and I and noticed the premium subscription was active, we have owned a fitbit in years. We are switching from Apple back to fitbit. Sucks we are going to lose out on time, this is not right. It should start when I activate the device.

Glad to hear that you're a Premium member and soon an owner of the Charge 5.
Your feedback and comments are appreciated, we're always striving to improve our services offered. Currently, when Fitbit trackers / watches are purchased directly on the Fitbit Store, the Premium subscription will automatically start on your Fitbit app. You can start checking Premium features on your app.

Same thing happened to me and I lodged the same concern with FitBit. I was totally dismissed in the FitBit chat by an employee, so I don’t see it changing - very silly!

I have a Charge 4 and already have a premium membership. I have upgraded to the Fitbit 5. Is there a different premium membership with the Fitbit 5 or is it the same? There are other features that the Charge 5 is showing so will the premium interface in the app change?
