Can I have a free Fitbit Premium trial while having another subscription?

I'm thinking of getting a new Fitbit.  My premium membership is paid through July of 2023.  

The new Fitbit has an offer for a premium membership and 2 year protection that I would like 

to take advantage of, but I want to know if I can purchase it and have my existing membership extended.   Does anyone know if this is possible?

It is possible to take advantage of the free trial for existing premium users, but your existing subscription mujst expire first:  You'll need to cancel your Premium subscription to activate your trial.  You'll see an offer in the Fitbit app to start your trial about one to three days after your canceled subscription expires"

Why they can't  juyst add it? Do not know. ....
