Can I start a free trial if I have an active subscription?

I have a Sense 2 tracker with Premium and am thinking of upgrading it to a different Fitbit tracker or smartwatch.  The new ones offer 6 months free Premium.  How does that work when I am already making annual Premium payments?  Are the 6 months added on to my next renewal date or what?

I'd like to explain that if your purchase includes a trial to Premium, you must cancel your current subscription to activate the trial. Approximately 1-3 days after your canceled subscription expires, an offer to begin the trial will appear in the Fitbit app. For more information, check this help article.
