Can you watch Premium workouts on desktop?

I know I can watch the workout videos from the app on my phone. But my phone is small. I want to watch the videos from the big monitor I have on my desk. Is it possible? I am talking about the videos within Fitbit Premium, NOT the Fitbit Coach videos.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Your feedback and comments are appreciated. I see where your disappointment is coming from.

I wanted to jump in and share that you're able to cast Premium workouts if you have an Android device, learn more about it by checking this idea.

If you have an iOS device and you'd like that this could be a feature in the future, vote and comment on this idea: Casting Premium workouts on TV screen or laptop (iOS), they are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans.

Also, I'd invite you to visit this article to learn all about the Premium features you'll have if you subscribe.

@LemonTrees Welcome to the Community.

I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry about watching videos on your computer. Currently, Premium workouts are only accessible through your Fitbit app. However, you could post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, these are reviewed by our team and the status changes based in Fitbit's plans.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Hi - I have a follow up question.....as per @LemonTrees havuing purchased premium yesterday also wanted to watch workout Videos on Desktop as iPhone app to small to follow when doing workout.  @SilviaFitbit  - when you say Premium Workouts are only available through the fitbit app, does that include the App on Microsoft Store, I downloaded that and installed on Windows 10 but see no workouts?  Thanks

Best Answer

Similar issue - tablet OS is not supported and user can only use laptop which doesn't have all the exercises.....big fail on fitbit's part. Please work on correcting! If users paid for premium content they should have access regardless of device.

Best Answer

@SilviaFitbitwhen are you going to correct this issue. People paid for premium membership and expect premium service....not only expect it, demanding it.

Best Answer

so my other message was removed  - funny how companies willfully present what they want you to see. I suggest @Fitbit correct the problem that was presented. People have PAID your company money for services not being rendered.

@NeilO65 Welcome to the Community. Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes, it will include the Windows 10 app store too. It's only available on the Fitbit app installed in either iOS or Android.

PLEASE allow Fitbit Premium coaching and videos to be viewable on a tablet or laptop. I cannot do a yoga class from my small phone. I might as well look up something on YouTube which is where I am heading now. Please fix this - I paid for it.

Best Answer

@SilviaFitbit - thanks for the reply, whilst not the reply I was hoping for appreciate the feedback all the same.  Is the limitation around the Fitbit app installed on iOS or Android detailed in the T&C's, specification anywhere....I didn't see it and probably would not have subscribed if I had know about that limitation.

Best Answer

fitbit should either 1) refund the money for people who can only use the desktop app and make it free - why do you need premium for that? it's limited and has nowhere near the options of the app or 2) fix it!

Hey all - found a workaround (this may not work for android users and/or if you are mixing iphone with a PC BUT if you're using an iphone AND mac, this should work - thanks to my fab partner for helping me figure this out):

1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac using your lighting to USB cable

2. Open Quicktime on your Mac

3. Click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen

4. Scroll down to "New Movie Recording" & select

5. Next to the red record button (lower middle) click on the down arrow. You should see your iPhone named in the list & be able to select. (If you don't see it try disconnecting & reconnecting your phone - that's what I had to do)

6. iPhone is selected & your phone is fully mirrored on your computer

7. If you don't hear anything, you'll need to change the Microphone (also the down arrow by the red record button) to your iPhone device name... it takes a second but then sound comes through too.

There are also some third party apps that do this, although I didn't find any for free.

Another possibility that requires a bit more hardware if you aren't an iPhone and/or Mac user: you'll need the correct dongles, but you should be able to use a lightning dongle, for example, from an iPhone and the dongle convert to HDMI or 9pin, and you can port that directly into your monitor... could be some hiccups with this, but hopefully that's helpful.

If the above doesn't work, try the other options listed in the article where I got the instructions listed: https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-mirror-iphone-to-mac?amp

ALSO: I agree that FitBit should really fix this, as I'm trying out Premium for the first time and (of course) assumed I could access via login on my computer... I'm not trying to do cardio workouts/classes from my phone, y'all!

This worked perfectly for me.  Thank you so much for sharing, araym13!  It's really a shame that we consumers have to go to such lengths to use a product in a convenient manner.  I will do my 90-day free trial, but I will have to think about if it is worth it to pay for the service or not.  Fitbit really needs to address this and make premium available to use via an Internet browser.

So glad this worked for you JaciRabbit. I agree - it's a shame that we have to jump through so many hoops to use this product in a way that's semi-convenient. It seems pretty odd to me that Fitbit makes it possible to view other parts of your account/access in that way, but not the work outs in a browser and/or homepage when you're logged in to your Fitbit acct on a computer - I honestly see zero logic behind that. Glad those steps work (I don't love them, but have used it a couple times and it's definitely better than trying to see poses for yoga or steps for a cardio dance class on my tiny phone screen).

Cheers -

@SilviaFitbitWhen you say our feedback doesn't go unnoticed, when can we expect to see this resolved?

If that option doesn't work for PC, you can also download Lonelyscreen on your PC. I found directions here: https://www.howtogeek.com/247573/how-to-mirror-your-iphone-or-ipads-screen-on-your-windows-pc/

It allows you to use airplay on your iPhone to mirror your iPhone screen to your computer. You can use it as a free trial, at least, and I saw several completely free alternatives when I Googled it. I just tested it, and it works best when you hit airplay before you open the Fitbit app--once you select a workout video, it will start automatically playing on your computer.
