Charge 5 problems

My Charge 5 suddenly went dead yesterday. After many attempts to restart it (using the button on the charger cable) it finally started but now (i) the battery fully discharges in circa 30 minutes and (2) I am unable to swipe the screen up/down or right/left. I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.
