Hello, I am Deaf and just I had a chat with a Fitbit rep asking why the visual cues no longer on the video workouts and by the way CC even if enabled has never worked. Did not have an answer he did try but said he would have to take this “higher up” and will get back to me via email at some point. I hope it’s not an empty promise. I researched through community Fitbit and see others have written this for over a year!
@Fitbit Developers. Make this app accessible! I can’t do my workouts w/cues. I can’t join the mindfulness sessions without CC. I pay full price for premium services but cannot access. Please update! Thank you ☺️

@Ejb14 All of the video workouts have been made part of Premium. I am moving this thread to the Premium forum. I think it is a MUCH better fit for this issue. I don't think that this will get the attention it deserves in the Alta/Alta HR forum. It isn't monitored by moderators.

Thank you. I hope I get a response. This is an ADA issue that services are made accessible. Fitbit provides the option to enable CC they need to be sure it actually works! Will keep everyone informed. Thank you again

@LZeeW Thank you for moving this post to the Premium board.
@Ejb14 Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thank you for sharing detailed information.
Your feedback and comments are appreciated, we're always striving to improve our services offered.
As mentioned by our council member, Fitbit Coach workouts have been moved to Fitbit Premium and the closed captions/visual cues were removed. If you'd like that this could be a feature in Premium workouts, post your idea in our Feature Suggestion board, those are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans. Also, users have the opportunity to vote and comment on those ideas.
Have a nice day. Hope to see your idea on the board.

Thank you for your support. However, this issue is not a suggestion it’s an ADA issue. That is, Americans with Disabilities Act. Fitbit has a mandated responsibility for equal access. Before they moved from Fitbit Coach to Premium I had access, now I don’t.
Fitbit help/support have responded to my emails which is great. The team seem to be very responsive No solution yet. I will head to the suggestion board, but to be clear, this issue s not a suggestion. Again thank you so much for the support/feedback. I just want to enjoy my Fitbit Premium again ☺️

@Ejb14 I found this article from the National Association of the Deaf about CC. Perhaps you should contact the NAD for their understanding of CC requirements for Premium workouts. If the NAD says they are required, then it shouldn't take a Feature Suggestion to fix this.

Yes that’s right! NAD has helped many with accessibility. Just last year they won their case that mandates the White House to have ASL interpreters for public announcements. I can also contact the Department of Justice as well. I want to give due diligence to the Fitbit help/support to see if they can amend this. I have informed them via email that it is an ADA issues.

Fitbit Help:Support got back to me today. This issue to provide CC appears to be just a suggestion to the Fitbit Team.
My next step is a formal letter of complaint by old fashioned snail mail ☺️ and I’ll now reach out to the National Association for the Deaf and the Department of Justice for their input. Thank you for your support. I’ll keep you posted. Found this article from 08/19/2021 about iFit https://www.healthline.com/health/fitness/ifit-closed-captioning-feature. Good read! ☺️
