A friend has invited me and a group of friends to 2 separate Bingo Challenges over the past few days.
The challenge will get to "Starts in less then 1 hr" status... but never starts.

I have seen several posts regarding custom challenges such as Bingo etc., not syncing and being stuck on "your challenge will begin in less than an hour". Like all of the previous replies I tried everything other than smashing my phone and then called customer support. After explaining in detail the issue the "advocate" came back only to say oh they already are aware of the issue and are working on it. There's a post in here as far back as March of this year so they've known for months. When I asked how long it would take response oh I don't know I have to put a ticket in. I'm personally sick of paying for a service I can't use. My message to all having this issue stop paying and then maybe it will be resolved.

Hi Silvia,
I've been following this thread and I've tried everything on this to fix my Bingo. What should I do next?
Thanks,
Ellen

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for letting me know that you're still getting this message in the Get Fit Bingo Challenge. We understand how important is for you to participate in them.
If you have confirmed that your Fitbit app is updated, force quit it, then re-open it but you're still getting this message. Our team is aware of this and working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We're sorry for any trouble and we appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
Thank you for your understanding.

You’ve repeated it twice, but what does it mean: “If you have confirmed that your Fitbit app is updated, force quit it, then re-open it but you're still getting this message.”
That’s not a sentence. If you’ve done all of those things and you are still getting a message, you should (fill in useful guidance here).
It would be nice if Fitbit provided actual support in these forums rather than ungrammatical platitudes.

I downloaded version 3.33 and had the friend who sent me the invites do the same. He then set up a short bingo for just us 2 which started just fine. The interesting thing is that all the bingos he had set that were frozen at less than 1 hour then started to work. For me, the problem seems to be fixed, at least until the next time an update that hasn’t been fully tested is uploaded.

Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for your reports and the troubleshooting tried. I'm glad to announce that this issue has been fixed, as always keep in mind that your app needs to be updated to the latest Fitbit app version which is 3.32 for Android and 3.32.1 for iOS devices.
Hope you continue enjoying the Fitbit Bingo Challenge.
