Fitbit premium annual subscription not available

Hi all,
my free trial is about to expire, I canceled the automatic monthly the subscription as I wanted purchase the annual subscription, but I'm not able to find the option anywhere.

Any help appreactiated.

@albb A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. 

 

Once your subscription has been cancelled and expired, follow this procedure to choose the annual subscription: 

 

  1. Tap the Premium tab.
  2. Read the overview, and tap the button to get started.
  3. Choose a 1-year subscription and follow the instructions to subscribe.

Also please double check that the latest Fitbit app version is installed on your phone.

Hi @SilviaFitbit,

 

I seem to be having the same issue as the OP. My Android phone's operating system and software are up to date, as is the Fitbit app.

 

When I follow the instructions that you shared above, I only have an option for the monthly subscription, rather than both an monthly and an annual one. Would I be better off to sign up for the annual subscription through the Fitbit website rather than the Google Play Store?

@mokey_fraggle Hi there. Thank you for the detailed information shared. 

 

Before subscribing through the Fitbit store, try the following: 

 

- Log out from the Fitbit app 

- Clear the app cache 

- Restart your phone 

- Log back in 

 

If you're still not seeing the option to subscribe, visit the Fitbit store and purchase your subscription there.

Hi @SilviaFitbit,

 

Thank you for your suggestions. I tried all of those steps, and when I logged back into the app it only showed the monthly option and offered the 6-month free trial again. When I clicked on that, though, I was presented with a message that I'd already used the free trial, and did I want to sign up for the monthly plan. There was no option to switch to an annual subscription in the Google Pay message that popped up. I'll chalk this up to there being a bug somewhere in the app's communications with Google Pay, and I'll subscribe through the website.
