Got charged but don't own subscription or device

I bought a device as a gift 6 months ago and apparently it comes with 6 month complimentary subscription, so, so far so good, but the fine print is that you are automatically enrolled into a subscription plan whether you use the device or not.  Since it is a gift I never used the device and forgotten all about it until I am charged for a subscription and my CC alerted me.  I immediately contacted Fitbit and canceled the subscription but they would not return the amount paid for subscription but they would happily cancel the subscription with 30 days from now, but the charge was for 6 months.  I don't understand the rationale behind this whole subscription gouging.  It just completely, utterly, nonsense.  I am happy very disappointed with the whole experience with Fitbit so far.

Welcome to the forums, @teja1.

Thanks for sharing this detailed information. Before anything else, I'd like to explain that as described in our Terms for paid services, Premium subscriptions are non-refundable. I understand where you're coming from and I'm sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Please note the subscription is linked to your account, this means that you can use its features even if you don't have a device connected to the Fitbit app. In case you want to learn more about Premium, I'd recommend checking this page.
