How long to 'activate' the 12 month free premium offer?

Just got an Inspire 2 to replace my recalled Ionic. But I'm not ready to start the 12 months free premium offer yet. Can I delay doing that and take my 12 months later on? Or is it 12 months from the day I paired the device? Don't want to wait 6 months and then find there's only 6 months of free premium left.

I am trying to figure out how to activate the 12 month free trial and fitbit are sending me links for the normal 3 and 6 month free trials.   I need the link for the 12 month free trial that came with the recall/repurchase offer.
