How to cancel the Premium trial before it expires?

I would like to cancel my free trail before paid renewal, but I can’t seem to find premium in my subscriptions, so how do I cancel?

Take into consideration that the subscription needs to be cancelled on the store where it was purchased from, follow these steps to do so: 

 

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab 
     
    your profile picture.
  2. Scroll down and tap Account Settings 
     
     Manage Subscriptions. Your active subscriptions open in your phone’s app store.
  3. Tap your Fitbit Premium subscription 
     
     Cancel Subscription. Note that you won't see this option if you already canceled your subscription. Your subscription expires at the end of your current monthly or yearly subscription term.

If the Fitbit Premium subscription doesn't appear on your default store subscriptions, make sure you're logged into the same account that was used to subscribe.

So I managed to find the screen to cancel the premium trial (not easy, but I persisted). When I click on 'cancel', it tells me 'An Error Has Occurred.
Please try again or contact us at https://help.fitbit.com'. As far as I can tell, payment details aren't set up but I'd really prefer not to be charged for something I don't want

Premium is ok, but not worth the price IMO

Well, as I kinda expected, I just got billed. So much for continuing to improve services...

Update: having gone through the support chat, I am cautiously optimistic that it has been cancelled. I guess I’ll find out for sure at the end of the month.

it really shouldn’t be so difficult to cancel a trial.
