Hi Fitbit,

May I just voice my disappointment with the fact that you make Sleeping Heart Rate and Restlessness a paid feature now! This is a gross business practice. What's next, I'll have to pay to track activities or access my daily heart rate logs? Fair enough that the access to extra features such as workouts is extra, but sleep tracking is standard feature of Fitbit. Outrageous.

@BBFIT1, I wouldn't bother buying your daughter a Fitbit. I have been disappointed in Fitbit stated claims at time of purchase versus the delivery of service on my Versa. There is no watch face available that has easily read HR, it's all about the clock.
Now at 11 months ownership the strap has broken. I do not feel like outlaying anymore money on a device I am not totally satisfied with and contemplating sticking it in the draw.
Alternatively anyone in Aust. got a spare black large half strap?

Hi everyone! Thank you for your comments, feedback and questions. I'll be more than glad to help you all further.

Just a small reminder, Fitbit Premium is an optional service, to enhance your Fitbit experience with more features available.

If you are not interested in Fitbit Premium, you can always continue using the Fitbit app as you have been doing until now!

Please keep in mind that the Sleep Score will be shown only if your Fitbit tracked  your sleep stages. This can only be done with devices that track heart rate, eg. Versa Family, Ionic .

All our users who have such a Fitbit will continue receiving the sleep stages and sleep score for free. Premium users will also receive the sleep score details as a new feature offered with Premium.

One of the features on Fitbit Premium is that you'll receive personalized insights based on your recorded data. So that you can use them to achieve your personal goals.

The insights shown on the non Premium account are based on demography, other users with the same personal information (age, weigh, height).

More about this can be found here: Fitbit Premium Guide

@BBFIT1 If you are curious about the new features offered with Fitbit Premium, you can always check our 7 days free trial.  Then you can decide if Premium is something for you and your wife.

@G-Man_505 , I reviewed your posts and couldn't find any of them being removed. When a post is removed because it violates our Community Guidelines, a moderator will send you a private message explaining the reason for that action. I'd suggest to check your inbox and reply back if you have any questions about that process.

@truthinbeer , thank you for your comment. I took the liberty and contacted Support in your behalf regarding the broken strap. Please keep an eye on your inbox. Support will be contacting you via email very soon.

@SunsetRunner , thank you for participating on this thread too. As I explained you on the other thread, and previously on this answer. Fitbit Premium is optional. No one is forcing any of the users to purchase and join Fitbit Premium. You can still have and use the same features you are used too as a non Premium user.

If any of you still have any question about the features offered with Fitbit Premium, please have a look at this article

Please let us know if any of you have further questions about Premium.

Ok see this is the part that is making want to step ON my Fitbit. The same answers without any useful input.

If you go into the sleep option and you scroll down, there is a section called sleeping heart rate...

and the only way to see this is to pay a ridiculously high premium subscription.

No I won't go try premium and no I am not going to read anything else. Until Fitbit realizes they are screwing their customers, I am done with Fitbit

We are not talking about the sleep score. What we are talking about is the detailed sleep information that you cannot see unless you purchase the stupid subscription. This is information that our bodies generated during our sleep and we gave this information (for free I might add) to Fitbit, who is nou trying to sell it back to us.

That is the bottom line.

Are these forum mods actual people or bots. Because every response from the moderators seems like it was scripted with a hint of sales pitch on side.

Can we get a actual human response please... Maybe the CEO that came up with this idiotic plan can explain to us how he justified selling our own information back to us?

Best Answer

Well said. It's like the scripted answers were designed to infuriate and confound. It's not the moderators faults. They are literally doing their job and I imagine that it is frustrating for them as well.

Not MY posts being deleted Juan... Other people here commenting on this thread, namely WolfWoman1949 and Jaimie-Friggin-A.

I have emails in my inbox from Fitbit showing the posts WolfWoman and Jaimie have made... Yet when I come to this thread ghosts posts have clearly been deleted.

That's what I meant by my comment.

Hey everyone! Thanks for getting back.

I truly appreciate your feedback and comments regarding Fitbit Premium, we're always striving to improve our services provided.

Just wanted to clarify that when you're buying Fitbit Premium, these are the features that you will get:

  1. Guided Programs
  2. Personalized insights
  3. Advanced Sleep Features
  4. Dynamic Workouts

Regarding the sleep features that you'll get if you're a Premium user, you'll see a deeper analysis of how your sleep score is calculated. This deeper analysis includes visibility into sub-scores for time asleep, deep and REM sleep stages, and restoration details, which provides analysis of your sleeping heart rate and time spent tossing and turning. Learn more about it by checking this screenshot:

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

Thank you for that, I will keep my eyes peeled for an email. It's not heavy
enough for a paper weight so the drawer is where it will end up otherwise.

Totally agree will be looking for a new product now. I shouldn't have to subscribe to a service for a product I paid for and have been using without subscription..this is bad business...find another way to make money, greed is a **ahem**ty face to prance around in.

Best Answer

i don't have a problem with 1 & 4, guided programs and dynamic workouts being premium. makes sense.

i have a HUGE problem with 3 advanced sleep features, as i see sleep as a CORE function.  I also have a problem with 2. personalized functions as i think that is based on CORE features and should be included.

Is this not basic common sense and giving the customer what they paid for and what was promised/implied way back when the Versa was launched and before?

Best Answer

@SunsetRunner that's exactly why I started this topic, I agree with you 100%!

I am so effing pissed off!! The ONLY REASON I BOUGHT MY Alta he is because I have seizures and I have to make sure I have enough sleep. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I LOST it for a while because we moved out of state. I've just started up. Who do I call about this?? I'm in tears and THAT could even cause me to have one. Please help me. Thank you. Brenda. It seems as if you need premium now. If that's the truth there's going to be a huge problem here.

Best Answer

I bought this **ahem** thing to record my sleep. I can have seizures if I don't get enough. I started using Fitbit in 2015 for this reason. I don't care about the steps. I figure if I exercise well for 40 to 45 minutes I'm good everyday or every other day I just need to make sure I sleep 7 to 8 hours and now I have to pay for this crap I'm so angry!!!! I just wrote them and the lady and I are going back and forth and she is trying to tell me how to restart my tracker but she won't answer my question about the sleep it's annoying as heck I don't need help starting my tracker I need help and answering my question!!!!

Best Answer

Yeah I need it for seizers. Try and screenshot? Backup something? I'm so mad.

Best Answer

what should we get? I don't need a watch, I already use my nice watches. I need to keep track off my sleep

Best Answer

A bit? No, we have been ripped off!

Best Answer

Exactly what he said. I've emailed back and forth with a company employee and she refused to answer my question. I need this info to record my sleep to prevent seizers. Thanks a lot. Done with you all. I have a huge following on face book, they'll be very disappointed

I am able to see the amount of sleep I get but not overnight heart rate or restlessness.   If you are not getting your length of sleep then yes maybe you need to reset your tracker, I don't really know on that because it is part of the app.    I should tell you my sister's tracker which is the Charge 3 stops working after 6 months, she did everything, Fitbit sent her a new one and now that one stopped working after 6 months.    There is something definitely wrong and going down hill with this company.
