Re-think premium price

I'm so upset that I can't enjoy the features that should be FREE to anyone who spends the amount of money on a watch as they do for the Fitbit brand. I almost want to go buy a $20 watch from Amazon that does the same things to be able to access my health information for free every month.

I can understand the cost for someone who wants a personal trainer, but $10 a month for your sleep details and health report on top of the lump sum put out on the watch is absurd. Even if you want to charge us I think we ALL AGREE that you should at least drop the price and/or separate the fee for Coach to make those of us who are only interested in our information able to afford it.

The data is collected whether you pay or not and charging for our data is really lame. However I strongly agree if the cost was lowered to say 5 bucks a month I’d consider paying for the service as a bundle. Watches now cost 200-300 dollars and competitors are offering data as part of the watch purchase for free. Also keep in mind a lot of people buy the latest watch when it comes out. Now I find myself looking at other brands because Fitbit is charging too much when you consider the next watch needs premium to access data that should be included in the original purchase.

Watch: 325

Subscription: 9.99 month or 79.99 year

Total: 444.88 or 404.99 not including taxes.

Apple is doing the same thing but the data is still free and my data should be available to me. The thing is coaching is great, but I can google coaching for free already. Fitbit and Apple is only offering a more immersive experience but the cost is too high. Oh and give me my data free! I won’t stay with Fitbit if my data is not included with my original purchase.

if Apple battery lasted as long as Fitbit I’d switch now. Please change direction I really do like Fitbit and have been a loyal customer for many years, but I just can’t see buying the latest watch and be forced to have a subscription just to access the history of my data.

/end rant...

FitBit service rep replies to customers who can't afford Premiums restrictive high prices are glib and non-responsive to customers actual concern_

_FitBit premium is too expensive and lots of us can't afford it.

__ an individual saying they couldn't afford it was prompted to buy a more expensive FitBit watch to get 1 year free service to premium.

--Can't afford the premium and you think I can afford new device?????  Greedy Greedy FitBit company and reps.

Would also like to see discount for seniors, people on social security, people receiving govt. assistance like food stamps, section 8_ easily provable need of customers in need of financial assistance who are also trying to live a healthier life with your devices.

- thanks

If Amazon can give 50% discount on  membership for students and low income individuals_ you certainly can.

And Amazon gives a heck of a lot more value with their membership fees than you do with your premium fee.

Amazon used to be $80 a year & you think your services are equal to theirs -

- if you can't make Premium more affordable then take the premium features out of the app for people without Premium- cause it's a constant reminder of what we can't have and can't afford at your ridiculously high prices

I'm new to FitBit community but not new to tracking my food and exercise.  Over the past 12 years, I've used MyFitnessPal ($49.99 yr), Carb Manager ($39.99 yr), LoseIt ($39.99 yr) and WW (price varies by deal, Digital is $159.64 year) apps over the years and in most case I purchased the premium memberships.

I'm not here to shill for FitBit or to argue over price, just to give my opinion.

My point is that when I compare Fitbit to the other apps, I see a value for me that justifies a little higher price.  Just like any other purchase...we typically buy things in which we see the value. Some people buy Rolex, others buy Timex, some buy Mercedes, other buy Fords.

At $79.99 a year that breaks down to $6.66 a month...and for me the value is there.

I'm getting coaching and workouts that I can rate, I'm see my macros on all my food, I'm seeing my Health Metrics (Breathing rate when I sleep, Heart rate variability and Resting heart rate), a sleep rating, and a "mindfulness" feature -- none of which is available on any of the others - and their price reflects it.  And on top of that I was able to find the Charge 3 on sale on Amazon for only $99.99 so all in I'm quite happy with the plan.  And I'd add that, IMHO, the customer service response is better on FitBit than the others.

I did buy a $40 fitness tracker at Amazon.

Not only does it give me steps, sleeping, heart rate_ but I also get blood pressure, blood oxygen %, & other free/included info FitBit doesn't provide.

Now my Versa 2 won't hold a charge for more than a day
