Should I choose monthly or yearly subscription?

Hello everyone,

Fitbit Newbie! I'm about to activate my 6m free trial but am about nervous given the number of threads about being trapped into paying even won a free trial. Is it better to sign up initially to pay monthly, just for the duration of the trail (assuming I won't pay anything until after the trial??) or sign up for the cheaper annual sub but risk being charged for something before I've actually decided if I want it? Just trying to avoid paying before knowing if it's som6i actually want. Any views please and thank you!

Hi there, @Goldsgirl.

Thanks for your interest in Fitbit Premium. I understand your concern and let me share that if you choose to start a free trial, you shouldn't be charged right away but at the end of the trial period. Keep in mind that you can always get in touch with our Support team to receive help in case you encounter difficulties with your subscription.

That being said, I suggest starting the free trial with either the monthly or yearly subscription to explore the features included. A few days before the trial expires, you can cancel it and decide whether to renew with a different period. To find more details about Premium and how to manage a subscription, click here.

Hi @LizzyFitbit - thank you for replying.  All clear.  I'm excited to get started!

The difference, I see, is if you pay for a year, and cancel in 7 months. You don't get a refund and your Premium continues to the end of your year. With month to month. It is more expensive per month, but cancelling, you only pay to the end of the month.

In either case, if you decide to not continue, cancel before the trial period ends

Thank you @Rich_Laue ! I think I'll go with monthly to start with so that in the event I am mistakenly charged, it will only be one month. Annual is definitely better value if I end up using it properly!

Hi there, @Goldsgirl@Rich_Laue Thanks for the additional information!

@Goldsgirl Thanks for taking the time to review the information shared in this thread. I'm glad it's been of help. As our friend mentioned, regardless of your subscription choice, you can always cancel it before the trial ends to avoid recurring charges.

Let me recommend these help articles which explain more about Premium and the features included:
