Signed up for a 90 day free Premium trial but was charged

On the app there was a banner for getting a 90day free trial of fitbit premium. I signed up but was charged $9.99 right away.  Has anyone else has this issue?  So much for free trial... Smh

They give a refund if you explain it was misleading and I had nothing but helpful interactions from their support people and I was refunded and given the 90 day trial free as well it was all done quickly and with good grace from them As long as you can provide the GSP receipt you've been charged wrongly for I dont  see you having a problem

Yes I did all that, just waiting for a reply back from them on when the
refund goes through

Same thing happened to me. I contacted them through Facebook and Instagram and am still awaiting a reply... very misleading/false advertising (nothing about not being available to people who had the 1-week free trial; why offer it if it's not available to us?). I am going to report them to the BBB if I don't get an answer this week.

I had the same issue, and when I wrote to Fitbit that they provided no message anywhere that this offer applies only to new members, their CS's response was "Premium is only for new members". Not only they refused to admit to misleading advertizing, they did not even take 2 minutes to provide a better response.

I got the same "Premium is only for new members" response. So infuriating!

I wrote back an angry email saying that nowhere on the pop-up is it indicated that it is for new members only or that you can't get the free 90-day trial if you already did the 7-day. I am a "fine print" kind of person. I thought they were offering me the 90-day because I had taken the 7-day trial and not signed up (because 7 days was not enough for me to get a feel if this was going to work for me. I was looking forward to the extended time to get a better idea of its fit for me).

I pushed back, told them that I found their advertising to be misleading and that there were a lot of complaints on the forum about just this issue. I also said that I was going to report them to the BBB and declare it as fraud to my credit card company (I did it through the Apple App Store). Lo and behold, I am awaiting a refund through PayPal from them (after having provided them a copy of my receipt from Apple).

Good luck!

I have never had a Fitbit before and have never used their premium app. I clicked on the banner that said 90 day free trial, and after I'm forced to enter my credit card info Google says I'll be charged $9.99, not a new user. I didn't use a 7 day trial either, so there's definitely something wrong on their side.

This is still happening now really annoyed me I can afford it even if it’s £7 I have spoken to the support team over live chat she said we have to discuss over email it’s been a day no reply and I know the longer they take the more chance they will say they will not refund as I have had it really annoying

If you have ever had a subscription the offer doesn't apply to you.

True, but then it should say so in their fine print but it doesn’t.

I agree.  It makes it look like they are offering you another free trial.  It’s so not worth it.

I Wish I would have spoken to the samen people 😕 I keep getting the answer that they wont help me. I signed up for a TRIAL through the advertisement in de Fitbit app. I was immediately charged and when I tried to cancel within the next hour the response I got, was that I cannot cancel a Premium membership. I was billed 80 euros. NEVER "trying out" anything from fitbit again. I would warn you not to do so either.

This FREE TRIAL for premium sucks !!!!

It's all about money. I ended up with immediate 9.99 charge AND annual fee ?79.99.

It's  a set up especially after I notified them within the framework of time to CANCEL.

The price you pay for these &%@=< phones should include the premium feature anyways.

Refund was slow and in pieces, what a hoax. SHAME ON YOU FITBIT!
