Unable to cast premium videos for Android and iOs

I see there are several posts since 2020 already about Premuim users being unable to cast the workouts to the tv. Trying to do them on the little phone screens is frustrating at best. I was really looking forward to my workout today.

Given that nothing has been done about the possibility of casting for the past couple of years makes me think theres no intention of it ever happening.  It seems Fitbit don't really care about their customers. I have a chat with customet support and their answer was: " go and vote" , " Use Google home to see if it works"  really? Is that the solution Fitbit is offering? So. Desapointed 😞

How do I cast premium workouts to my tv? The videos are totally useless trying to do them off my phone lying on the floor. I have an android and a Chromecast, but can't figure out how to cast. Thanks!

@Phoenix14 It's nice to see you on the Community.

It's not possible to cast Premium workouts to your TV yet. However, you may want to vote for this idea, these are reviewed by our team and the status will change based in Fitbit's plans.

In the meantime, you could stream Fitbit Coach workouts to your TV, follow the instructions on this article.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions.

But you could do this before?

@Sarah-LW Welcome to the Fitbit Community. I'll be happy to clarify your inquiry.

The Fitbit Coach workouts could be stream to your TV by following the instructions on this article. At the moment, Fitbit Premium workouts are only visible through your Fitbit app.

I can share anything on my phone (including FitBit Coach etc)  to my TV using Screen Mirroring. It works flawlessly.

I'm not very pleased to discover I can't cast these videos either. Not useful if I can't and likely will not keep Premium if it isn't eventually changed. I've tried screen mirroring and there is often lag but will give it another shot.

I'm just a little confused though, if it cant be cast, why does it have the cast button but it is grayed out.. I would seriously love to not watch my workouts on my phone. the coach app helped so much but that is no longer a thing.. so just a little bummed I guess. Will still stay true to my fitbit but would love for the video workouts to become a castable thing.

I've been using Fitbit trackers for many years and wanted to combine it's capabilities with Fitbit Premium, but could never come around on how to use it effectively. All video cramped into small smartphone screen, where it's hard to find and organize it in any meaningful way! Every time I want to find the right exercise, I end up endlessly scrolling all content and many times just give up and get back to use Peloton app on Apple TV.

If Fitbit is serious about Premium subscription, it should provide training content on a large screen with a better way of organizing it.

Yes this is very frustrating for me as well, I received the inspire 2 as a gift and have the free premium trial. My phone screen is too small so I cannot get an effective workout if I have to stop and watch the workout up close to see what I am suppose to be doing. If they fix this problem I would see fitbit premium as a worthwhile purchase, but would rather purchase beachbody on demand if fitbit premium doesn't step up.

Hi there,

How do you cast videos from the Fitbit app to your tv hooked up with a Chromecast? Trying to watch the videos and do the exercises from my tiny phone screen is super frustrating and seems such a waste especially if you’re paying for the premium feature. There must be a better way but I am having trouble figuring it out.

There should be an easily accessible feature with the Fitbit Premium via the app to cast to a chromecast/television.

Does anyone have an easy step by step solution for streaming Fitbit Premium videos to their tv through Chromecast?

Thank you so much. Any help is greatly appreciated. I’ve wasted so much time trying to figure this out!

It is now 2022 and I am not able to cast fitbit premium content to my TV.  I will definitely not keep Premium past the free trial if that doesn't change.

Best Answer

I wont be keeping premium either.  Such a disappointment. You can't even download the fitbit app on my TV.

Yes it would be great to cast workouts to your TV.  Not sure how I vote on this.

Definitelly a problem! I can't follow any premium vídeo in my smartphone, the screen is too small. It seems the Icon to cast the video the video onyour tv is there but is inactive! ( I have iOS). Not sure this is my phone or a real problem from the app. Im wondering if they really can help to fix this asap.

I have the exact same problem and you know what they say? Go to the forum and vote!!

I saw somebody submitted the original request on 2020 and guess what, so far not resolution!! It seems fitbit doesn't really care about their customers!

Best Answer

I totally agree. It's a waste of time up voting as they're not interested which sucks considering the amount of people who have commented on this.
