Hi,
I have found out this morning, the screen share/cast option is not available from the exercise videos anymore.
I still can cast using the phone in-built feature, but in much lower quality and not as convenient.
I have Pixel 7 phone.
Why is this feature is not available anymore? The app's log does not state it was removed.
Thanks
Laszlo

Thanks for looking into this. I'm on a Pixel 7 Pro with Android version 15. I'm using the latest version of the Fitbit app (updated December 9, 2024). Casting works with all other apps without issue.

Yesterday I called the Fitbit support from the Netherlands, I was told the same thing. Fitbit immigrated to Google and because of this the casting symbol has been removed.
I was tolt that the casting symbool won't return and also dat it will be impossible to receive a refund for my Premium.
Also, if you look on the internet you will see that Google stops with using de chromecast in general, they will bring a new device on the market so I guess the Chromecast will be permanently removed.

Thanks for investigating for us.
OnePlus 8T
Android 14
Fitbit 4.32
Cast button no longer there for all audios & videos within Fitbit app (other apps work fine)
Roll back to 4.30 and the cast button is there, update to most recent version and cast button disappears.

Hi Lizzy, I was wondering whether you had an update on the inability to cadt to TV issue. Google is a huge international company, so I can't imagine how a small issue such as this could be impossible to fix. I have 5 months left on my Premium subscription and would appreciate a pro rata refund, preferably before Fitbit is pulled off the market.

I too asked for a refund and this is the response I got:
"Then just to inform you that you can already use the subscription for more than 8 months and no refund can be provided.
Thank you. "
I've been loyal to fitbit since 2016 but since they sold out to Google they haven't been the same. This is just bad business and I'll be looking into other fitness trackers and programs.

I was told that because I can still watch my videos on my phone screen I couldn't get a refund.
To tell you the truth, I already found a alternative to Fitbit, I've been a Fitbit user for years but now I'm done with it. They took away something I paid for without notice en if I can't get it back I won't stay here.
The only you reason why I took a premium account was because I want to do the exercises on my television screen and if I can no long and do that I do not see why I should stay here

Thanks Nancy, I'll be looking at other options as well. It's a shame that Fitbit is being run into the ground and we loyal customers are being treated poorly. A sign of the times unfortunately.

Looking for an update. This feature worked weeks ago and now doesn't work. A major change like this can be reverted instantly. I'll be canceling my premium subscription unless this gets fixed within 24 hours. You've known about this for a week. Please don't tell me they're still looking into it. If that's the case, it needs to be escalated even further up.

This is just so crazy that they removed this.
Im on pixel 9 pro.
Would it be a bad idea to roll back my version of FitBit?
It still has the option to cast from my Ipad. But I would rather use my phone.

I only JUST signed up for Fitbit premium after years with basic Fitbit features. Casting workout videos was a huge perk.
I can get any workouts I want on YouTube and cast those. I won't be continuing my membership if the feature isn't restored.

I have downloaden een older version of the app on my tablet and it works fine, i can stil cast with it. I will now use my tablet to cast workouts until my Premium subscription has ended and then I will leave Fitbit.

Regarding version rollback, I went back to 4.30 and now I can cast workouts again. Although everything else works okay for now, I don't think this is a suitable long-term solution. I will stick with 4.30 until a) the problem is resolved in a new update, or b) my subscription term ends so I can cancel premium.
