Hi,
I have found out this morning, the screen share/cast option is not available from the exercise videos anymore.
I still can cast using the phone in-built feature, but in much lower quality and not as convenient.
I have Pixel 7 phone.
Why is this feature is not available anymore? The app's log does not state it was removed.
Thanks
Laszlo

Hi,
I am also having the same issue, it was fine yesterday and now the cast button is just gone.
I contacted the help centre, and they said the cause of the issue is yet to be identified, and the issue is being escalated and I should get an update via email.
Hopefully they bring it back, cause it's impossible to workout from a phone screen.

Thanks for posting this. It makes more sense than the answer I got (see the other discussion: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Fitbit-Premium/Screen-share-not-available-anymore/m-p/5702551#M21607)

Sorry, but it's unlikely an employee from Google will read your comment, since most of us here are users and volunteers. You really need to send feedback in the Fitbit app to make sure that the engineers see it.

I also have contacted Google Support this morning. I was transferred to the Fitbit Support Team and the agent did run few checks and acknowledged the problem. He said he will raise the issue with a higher team to resolve the problem.
I also shared this thread with him and asked him if anyone from support could pop in here.
I hope we will see the feature is coming back soon.

Hello @Laszlo1981 . Thanks for posting that, it makes a lot more sense than the response I got. Let's hope it was a relatively minor problem and they fix it soon.

Morning All,
I have a bad news.
Here it is what I have received from support.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to the Fitbit Customer Care Team.
In accordance with our team response, there are some changes to the app and there are some videos that are not going to be able to be cast to the TV.
If you need more information, please feel free to check our help site at https://help.fitbit.com/ as well. It's been really a pleasure chatting with you and thank you for contacting Fitbit.
Regards,

This feature was released in 2021 and now removed without any notifications.
This is really bad

Well, that's just weird. It doesn't make much sense to me to remove the casting feature as the videos aren't much use without it. It's hard to believe it's difficult to do, so I hope it's really just a bug. In the meantime, I've been looking at the Nike Training app. It has a lot of workout videos, you can cast them to a TV and it's free.

Thank you for the Nike App recommendation.
I have downloaded it now.
And yes, I can cast the workouts.
I will see if Fitbit restore this option or not. ATM I am using the free subscription. If the casting option is restored, I will continue the subscription otherwise I will cancel it. The non premium features are enough for me though having the Fitbit Premium via the Google One 2TB plan is a deal breaker, but just not this way.

I don't think they actually know what's going on. If that was truly the case then it wouldn't work on any platform so why does it still work with IOS. Since Google took over Fitbit I don't think there is much communication between the two. Casting is pretty common on most apps nowadays. So there would be no reason to remove it. If people start requesting premium refunds because of this they may try to figure it out.

I suspect you may be right. If that is the case, it does make you wonder why they feel the need to make up absurd explanations rather than admit that they don't know.

Yeah, the way the cast option just disappeared from the app without any communication really irked me. I was hoping it was just some sort of update glitch. The workaround to cast using my Pixel phone's screen cast is suboptimal. It is really maddening since my wife and I have long enjoyed our daily workouts with Fitbit Premium in our home gym.

I'm on a pixel 9 pro now and the cast screen to my Roku isn't even an option anymore for anything. My 5a was able to cast my phone screen to the Roku without any issues, but it was dying and I had to replace it.

I've started a feature request in the "Product Feedback" to bring casting back. Only one vote so far.

Recently (can't say exactly the date or app update I received), Fitbit workouts are missing the cast to TV icon. I think it's Fitbit app issue as casting works with other apps e.g YouTube. Can we unbreak it please?

December 26 and my cast is still not an option. 🫤
