When the phone locks, the audio workout pauses

I recently got given a fitbit as a present and it came with premium. Great. Really like it!

My question is, why when I am doing a guided program (run, walk etc.) can't I close my phone screen and have it still work. I have to keep the screen on or it stops altogether and I have to reopen everything.

Is there an option I have missed?

According to your description, the feature is working as intended. However you may want to vote for this idea Meditation and Audio should continue playing while phone is locked  these are reviewed by our team and the status will change depending on Fitbit plans.

I think the fact that the particular idea you asked me to vote on has been floating around for about a year with no action taken, really tells me that you are not going to do anything about it.

No option, this is rubbish. How can you listen to running audio while running when the phone has to be unlocked?

Or, better, how are you supposed to relax to mindfulness audio, when you need to wake up to lock the phone after the audio is finished.

And you won't get a logical answer from Fitbit. Rubbish!

Thanks, read it. Doesn't really tell me anything to do with my initial question. I appreciate that you can't really answer the question, however this seems such a simple fix that it's actually quite baffling that it hasn't been done!

Yes, they seem to have standard non committal answers. I'm not an IT guru by any stretch, however this doesn't seem like it would be very hard to fix.

So it's now been 9 months since I posted this and I'm happy to say that nothing has changed! How on earth is this still a thing?
