Hi

I tried to activate the free trial but when I did, the App Store tried to charge me $20. Luckily I didn’t have $20 in that specific account so the payment failed but I don’t understand why I was charged $20 for the free trial, especially because the monthly subscription is only 15 but regardless.

That's strange.  Normally, when I get free app trials, yes they want credit card information, but they don't start billing until after the promo is done.  Maybe that's what you're seeing?
