Need to accurately track calories

Hey there!

I recently purchased the Fitbit inspire. My main reason for purchasing was so that I could accurately track how many calories I’ve burned. My question is, should I have purchased a Fitbit that tracks heart rate to accurately track my calories burned? Does my Fitbit inspire ONLY track my BMR or does it really track my true calories burned?

The Inspire includes your BMR, but also estimates your calorie burn from steps, I imagine not just total steps but uses frequency of steps to estimate intensity of exercise.

I would imagine a tracker with heart rate would be more accurate for calorie burn, especially if you are doing much exercise that doesn't include steps.  But I have no idea how much actual difference it would make, especially considering your BMR usually accounts for over half of daily calorie burn.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
