Viewing Historical Sleep Data

I am developing an Excel spreadsheet (for my personal use only) to do more comprehensive analysis of my sleep data than is provided by Fitbit.  Each morning I manually enter the previous night's data data from the web app (running on Windows 7), which automatically updates a range of calculations, analyses and charts, to show trends in actual and average data points over a range of timeframes, and the frequency distribution of various quantities.  I am now going back in time to add historical sleep data to my spreadsheet.  Unfortunately the export functionality doesn't export all the data I need, so I'm doing it manually.

The specific problem I'm querying is how I can get to historical data most effectively.  I currently work from the Sleep data page, pressing Load More at the bottom of the screen to get to dates in the past.  I'm currently clicking 15 times on Load More to get to the dates whose data I want to review.  After looking at one night's data, the app takes me back to the most recent dates, so I have to click Load More 15 times again to get back to the list of dates I'm reviewing.  Is there some quicker way (than clicking 15 times) to get to the desired dates, or is there a way to customise the display on the Sleep data page to display a bigger range dates, so I don't have to click on Load More, or click it less often?

Accepted Solutions

Thanks @LanuzaFitbit and @WaveyDavey for responding to my query.  I'm a competent (though amateur) programmer, so will look into using the Fitbit API to program a solution, but don't have much time at the moment to do that, so will add it to my to-do list - over the long term it will reduce the time I spend manually transcribing data every morning (even for current data, let alone the historical data).  The Export functionality doesn't export all the data I require, so that's not a viable solution.  As a (potential) short term fix, I will post on the Features Suggestion board to request that more dates are displayed on the Sleep Data page.

Thanks again.

Hi @dave_nq,

That's an interesting project you have going.

I'm assuming you're pulling the data from here. Because of how the page is designed, I don't see a way of getting around using the Load More link.

If you are handy with programming, you may be able to write a script that pulls the information for multiple days at a time.  Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Forums @dave_nq. Thanks for coming in to help @WavyDavey

Going with what @WavyDavey is definitely an option, if you are good at that.

As for getting the details in the way that you describe would not be possible at this time. Another possibility could be to export your sleep data. It lets you choose a range of 31 days to export.

Finally, you could also post about this on the Feature Suggestions board. Other users could then comment and vote on your idea to show their support. You can read more about that board on the FAQ.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
